The hotel staff are very accomidating and kind. The room was bigger then I expected. the rooms are old but clean. Small things were a problem...the front room TV never worked correctly, the alarm clock never worked neither did the phone it the bedroom. All in all this is a 2 and a hal star hotel with great staff and good location.

Convenient location - nice large room - staff courteous and helpful. Well done. Will stay there again.

We normally stay in the Travelodge Wynyard which is excellent and next door to the York but it was full. Our room in the York was big, clean and pleasant but there is no restaurant and no atmosphere - very dull but probably OK for those who want a quiet place. Food could be ordered from outside but we went to the Wynyard's restaurant which is very good. The receptionist seemed OK but gave us the wrong key so we had to go back down 9 floors with luggage. She didn't seem at all apologetic. We go to Sydney every year and will try earlier for the Wynyard (which is also less expensive than the York) next year or go elsewhere. This location is excellent for getting around Sydney and only a few minutes away from Darling Harbour.

MY WIFE AND CAME TO SYDNEY FOR BUSINESS BUT DECIDED TO EXTEND OUR TRIP FOR A BIT OF LEISURE AND GLAD WE DID AS THE YORK WAS THE IDEAL LOCATION.WE WALKED TO SEE SHOWS,SHOP,SIGHT SEE EAT GAMBLE THE LOT.ITS WAS GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND WOULD RETURN THERE ANYTIME.

We just loved the Hotel York.
Very good for a family, travelling by car in Sydney,
with comfort large space in the room, and convenient location either to walk and drive.
Another vacation in Sydney we'd be back.

Hotel very convenient situation. A main traffic area, busy traffic area, close to public transport, staff helpful, quiet room, going price for a room, all in all a pretty good choice.

The only one day when I needed to use restaurant service was for a cup of coffee the morning I left Sydney. The one in charge mentioned, "We are closed, but I will make an exception". I am from South America and comments like this are tacked as "I'm breaking the rules for you, so I expect a huge tip". If restaurant is closed, fine, tell me that and I will leave. If it is open, invite me to have a seat, period. This is the only one event made my York Hotel experience was not perfect. Hope you can work on it.

Not too sure about the facilities available but the overall service was good. Housekeeping and the concierge was very friendly and helpful. Location was good. Quite a peaceful area, and close to both Circular Quay and Darling Harbour. The apartment had full amenities but too bad I didn't have a chance to enjoy all of them. Housekeeping did a very good job especially since I didn't know how to operate the dishwasher!! Had a great view although I only saw part of the harbour bridge.

Staff slightly over-harass guests on booking confirmation,check-out timing and room servicing -- seems to be a lack of communication between staff where booking confirmation has already occurred. However, overall experience still good. door handle in bathroom needs fixing. Beds need replacing -- they are too soft and creaky, a layer of foam doesn't disguise this.

The staff was excellent.

Room was upgraded to one-bedroom (at no charge)

Noisy - due to traffic on York Street

The rooms were good and spacious with a lot of space for the luggage
