The general standard of the hotel and its facilities are what one would expect for a 3 star hotel in this region. After reading some negative reviews on the internet I decided to give it a go. My room (403) was comfortable and in a quiet section of the hotel. I was moved to room 408 for one night when a plumbing fault occurred. This section of the hotel suffers extensive noise pollution from the in-house night time entertainment. The volume was reduced at around 2am but was still audible. This part of the hotel is more suitable for young singles who would use the entertainment facilities and therefore not be inconvenienced. This noise factor is something of which previous reviewers had complained. I found the staff extremely helpful at all times. They reacted very quickly to the 1am bathroom plumbing emergency and I was able to move rooms within minutes. The breakfast buffet provided a very good selection and no one seemed to mind guests arriving for breakfast late. I only had one evening meal in the hotel. It was was very enjoyable. The main dining room was being refurbished during my visit so dining was in the sports bar. The dining tables in this area are not really adequate for the task but, as I said, this is a temporary measure. Overall it was a comfortable and enjoyable visit.
