After taking one look at our room and the rest of the hotel, we immediately left and found a very good room at the Hotel Grand Chancellor for only a few dollars more.

Would have liked a book or folder in the room stating exactly what was avaailable ie location of internet & pool etc The maids didn't seem to remember to take out the rubbish bin & on both mornings I had to give it to them

where the room was situated was extremely noisy and we were unable to get much sleep

The kettle was past it's usable life, with sludgy deposits on the inside at bottom of vessel, resulting in bad taste to water.

Our stay was fine. We would stay again.

I was surprised that there was smoking in the bar. we would have stayed longer except for the smoking.

On arrival said I hadn't a booking! Got checked in anyway. Good job the hotel was not full and where able to accomandate us. But was only the next day that they found the real "booking" under CaRlton!

Excellent location. Front Office staff, Nick (I think. The tall fair asian guy)was very friendly, warm and helpful. Other staff efficient Provide hand or face towels at the sink for guests.

I found it on the Web by searching for "art deco hotel melbourne", but I didn't notice anything truly art deco about the hotel. Even so, it was OK. There was no information about hotel bar and restaurant times and so on in the room.

Room could have done with redecorating.Furnishing tended to be a bit tatty.

I found it very difficult to get effective assistance in getting a shuttle to the airport. there was also a confusion about what rooms my colleague and I were in and I received her phone calls in error and she received my messages. messages were also delivered late. Would be good to have a choice of non-smoking rooms

The room was very small with a very small bed. I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Sydney on the same trip with a large room and two king size beds for only $13.00 (USD) more per night.

Bathroom so small that wash-hand basin was located in the bedroom. Lack of shelf space for storing personal items.
