Eaton Mall is quite near to most of the hotels, with some of if are just within walking distance. You may want to try out the posh restaurants inside the malls as the price per meal is about the same with meals in hotel's in-house restaurants. The Royal Ontario Museum is also around the corner should you want to indulge in local performance arts.
You can also access the PATH, a sixteen mile underground network of shops and service outlets. Many more shopping outlets are located there but the most appealing are the nightclubs and lounges in the PATH network.
Downtown – Eaton Centre – Eaton Centre is the largest mall in Ontario, and Eastern Canada, and third largest in the country with a total of whopping 330 shops and service outlets under its roof. Once houses the defunct Eaton's departmental store, the Eaton Centre alone attracts a massive crowd of about a million weekly, making it Toronto's top tourist attraction site. It also houses Canada's largest store, The Bay departmental store chain.
One thing for sure, you'll find yourself in the middle of collision of many cultures and communities in the mall, from the First Nation handcrafted product outlets up to trendy European designer designs. Bounded by the renowned shopping street, the Yonge Street, the mall's underground outlets also forms a part of PATH's network with two ground level TTC stations, the Dundas and the Queen.
One of the most prominent feature in the mall is the picturesque group of fibreglass Canadian Geese hanging from the ceiling, forming a flight path inside the mall's ceiling. This sculpture, named Flight Stop, is the work of artist Michael Snow and has become one of the mall's most important feature.
Coupled with plenty of restaurants and two food courts, the north end of the mall now occupied by Sears Canada, which is also the chain's largest store in the world.
