Overview
Since it opened in 1972, The Berkeley Hotel London has remained in the vanguard of London's top hotels. Built of sandstone, it has mellowed well and has a timeless elegance while its location can't be beaten, being a few seconds from Knightsbridge and Hyde Park.
The entrance hallway is small but stylish, more in keeping with a grand house than a hotel. The rooms themselves are well sized and impeccably furnished in a grand country-house manner. Two of the top conservatory suites have their own saunas. In keeping with the capital's status as a top restaurant city, Petrus (formerly on St. James Street) welcomes diners under the guidance of Marcus Wareing.
The hotel also offers Boxwood Cafe, which feels like a Zenned out version of a private New York club.
The Berkeley Health Club is fully equipped with one of the true pleasures of London, a swimming pool with both a retractable roof for fine weather and great views over London.
