Coogee - Coogee is a popular beachside area in Sydney, second only to Bondi Beach, and is great for families with small children as the waves here are quite tame and perfect for swimming. Also known as Sydney's 'Seaside Village', Coogee is just minutes away from the city's CBD, making it an ideal destination for a day at the beach on weekends. Coogee Beach is great for swimming especially with presence of the council lifeguards throughout the year. It is also protected by the Wedding Cake Island, a rocky reef about 400m offshore that helps break the waves.
