What a wonderful place to stay in Rotorua! Koura Lodge is right on the lake and has great views across the water. The staff are really friendly, helpful and the lodge is very welcoming. A fantastic breakfast greeted us each day and everything was just as we expected - a definite recommendation to anyone wanting a special weekend away.

The woman running the lodge made comments about other guests and generalised on race - german and americans were criticised quite a lot. She was invasive, had no diplomacy, was "strict" - it felt like being in a hostel not an upmarket lodge. A distinct disadvantage for the owners. We had very little real privacy as people could walk in fron of the room window (a walkway/deck) and the soundproofing was very bad. There was limited space for the price of the accommodation.
