My stay at this hotel did not meet with my expectations. Although household duties and cleanliness of bedding were first class I must protest at the following issues that occurred. The bathroom was infested with cockroaches. I had to provide photographic evidence from my netbook to convince reception staff. A young man produced an aerosol can of insect repellent to get rid of them. I requested alternative accomodation. On moving into another room, there was no bath mat, no hand towel, no courtesy light at the bathroom mirror and no stoppers for the wash hand basin or bath! All issues were resolved timeously. I would have changed hotel immediately but was unable to find alternative accomodation due to the festive period. I did not use the leisure or restaurant facilities. I could not wait to get out of the hotel early morning and spend most of the day in Sydney and surrounding areas, reluctantly returning in the evenings. I used the waste basket to cover the drain on the bathroom floor and the stoppers in the basin and bath to avoid a repetition of insects reappearing. Not the ideal way to spend a holiday!!!

Our stay was only brief - one night as we were catching a plane the following morning to the Gold Coast. We found the Stamford at the Airport to be just what we wanted.
Our room was suficiently large enough the bathroom clean. We only used room service for a light snack as we arrived rather late in the evening, however it was great to be able to have something to eat and in our room. The room service was quick and the staff person very friendly.
We left early the following morning and our check-out was a little slow as we were behinf a gentleman that was obviously having problems with erither his check-in or out. However it did not make us late for the shuttle bus which was also very much appreciated.
Thank you to the Stamford for what was just what we wanted prior to our holiday north.

Hotel shuttle was difficult to find at airport (poor signage); luggage took a long time to come up to room; requested wake-up call did not materialize. Smelt of smoke.

A light bulb was out and the inside of the windows was dirty.

advice on payment was given incorrectly the first time around.poor security by sending tax invoice+ credit card details to incorrect address

Room service left a lot to be desired - cold food, chewy steak when a rare one was ordered. Breakfast was good except for small, fatty sausages Beautiful room, wonderful view.

Food mediocre & overpriced.

Service by staff in the bar/bistro was very poor but the manager assisted. However the lack of customer focus was really a shock by the waitress and bar staff. If customer satisfaction is the goal and these staff are not trained and paid by the hour there is no incentive to be attentive and polite. Met expectation for star rating.

Would like to have seen soft drink vending machine available. Aus$4 for a coke from the mini-bar seemed very expensive and there was no alternative. Staff was particularly helpful although they did not seem to be aware that airport didn't open until 0500. They arranged for a taxi for us at 0430.

Check in was a bit hectic. There were many people waiting to be checked in and only 2 people at the desk. 3 people including ourselves had to go back to the counter because the room was not as expected. We needed two double beds in one of our rooms. Another guess however, opened her door to her room only to find it already occupied. We enjoyed our stay and was pleased with the dinner buffet the hotel had to offer.

Really enjoyed the seafood buffet in the restaurant in the hotel. Very conmfortable room.

Service and location was excellent. We were moved from our first room to another one due to the dirty condition of the carpet and soft furnishings. Stains covered the carpet and sofa and there was a rip on the sofa arm. The room was generally unclean and very disappointing. We have stayed in the one bedroom suite at this hotel a couple of times before and have never seen it that bad.

poor resturant facilities,

We found the hotel to be of a high standard however, we found the menus to be too expensive for us. Also, your shuttle service to the airport used to be free and this time we had to pay. That is OK but it appeared that some paid for this service and some did not, which is a little unfair. However, your hotel is in excellent proximity to the airport.

We always to choose to stay at the Stamford prior to departing overseas. It meets all our needs including proximity to the airport, good shuttle service to and from the airport. The dining and other facilities were excellent. A large room with attention to detail. Excellent layout and all the facilities we required.

I was not told that I needed to provide $100 as a deposit in case I used any of the in- house bar drinks etc. This was inconvenient. Even though I stated that Iw ould not be using these things and didn't have the cash on me, I was told that I had to get my secretary to fax through credit card details -- I was not permitted to use the hotel phone and it took me several hours to organise. I also sent an email requesting that I be able to book in early at 10:30 -- this was never answered and upon arrival I was told I would not be able to have access to my room until late afternoon and that I could n't have access until La trobe uni (my workplace) sent through credit card details anyway -- even though they had already paid for my room 7 days previously. Internet room not working; wasn't able to convince staff memnber that I needed to book a cab for an early flight -- he stated that they're always out the front, day and night" needless to say when i looked for a cab at 5:15 there weren't any. I was late for my flight and only made it because the plane was delayed.
