I have stayed at the Stamford Plaza many times for work purposes. However this time it was for a holiday with my husband to attend the Australian Open Tennis. The hotel is excellent in all categories. The rooms are really large and have full kitchens, dining tables and lounge settings and are well equipped. Though who needs this when Melbourne's cafés are on the doorstep? This holiday every staff member we dealt with were friendly, professional and extremely helpful, despite the hotel being very busy. They all were interested in our day and always had a cheery smile and personal comment. For older persons or persons with a disability it might be helpful to know that the hotel is on rise in two directions. So, while not particularly steep, there is a bit of a uphill walk up Little Collins or Russell St at the end of the day to get back to the hotel.

This hotel is our first choice when visiting Melbourne because if its ease of location to CBD, theatres, restaurants and tram stops. It is quiet and traffic noise does not disrupt sleep. We like having the separate living area giving more space to the rooms. Good value for money.

Stamford Plaza Melbourne is a well located luxury hotel within walking distance of most Melbourne attractions. We had a very pleasant stay at a reasonable rate in an apartment.

We had a lovely time. The location was excellent. Central and within walking distance to everything I had organised. This was one of the main features why I chose to stay at the Stamford.

We went to a restaurant nearby for lunch, back to our room to change, then to Priscilla in the Desert for a live show. Everything was fantastic. We followed this with a lovely romantic candle lit dinner for two on the 35th floor of the Sofitel.

We watched an excellent movie after returning to our room later on and spent a beautiful night without the kids.

Next morning we had a wonderful breakfast and followed this with a full day of shopping on Bridge Street.
My wife had a beautiful birthday wihere everything went to plan. The service was very good, the room was clean, the setting was luxourious and the atmosphere romantic.

Whilst it was a little pricey, the moment was priceless.

My only set back was the restaurant NOT being open on the Sunday night.

Most enjoyable stay and excellent finally to a wonderful weekend.

Bathroom was a little dark, dingy and cluttered.

The hotel is very well located The room was excellent nice clean and very roomy

Our sheets had holes in them.

Daily local newspaper to the room should be good.
