We arrived and checked in and the initial room we were assigned was not what we expected- no view and looking into a fence so we choose to upgrade to a 4th floor room with a spectacular view of the lake which was what we so enjoyed, but cost us $59.00 more a night) We enjoyed the hotel accommodations but thought internet access in the room would have been available for a fee and was only available on a couple of computers in their lobby. We did use the laundry facicilities and that was convenient, but the one thing we noticed and missed was any outside patios at the resort at all for view the lake and mountains. The room had small balconies but there were no common outdoor spaces for relaxing or lounging outside. They had a indoor spa-very clostrophopic and smelled. We did enjoy room service one evening- food was excellent.

I fell in love with the hotel as soon as I walked into the foyer. It was just like the pictures on its website. The views were gorgeous, the staff extremely helpfull, the amenities such as the spa and sauna fantastic. I loved going to happy hour and watching the spectacular views from the bar. The food in the restaurant was fantastic and well priced. Staying in this hotel really made my stay extra special and enjoyable, I will definitely be going back.

A spa on the rooftop would be ideal to take advantage of the views. I believe Peppers next door has one!

Of my entire 12 days holidaying in NZ this was the worst hotel we stayed in. The staff were not very helpful, the service was indifferent, the room we stayed in was awful, there is no ambience to the hotel or the rooms and the rates highly inflated. Specifically - we booked a '1 bedroom lakeview suite' to be placed in a room that overlooked a ramshackle backyard. When I requested another room, they accomodated this request and moved us to a room that had a lakeview but through a window that was half the size of a door and that was the only window in the ebtire 1 bedroom apartment! It is absolutely not what is shown in photos on the website. On another occasion (problem with the room) I called reception asking to speak with the duty manager and was told he would call me back. 30 minutes later I was still waiting for the call - followed up again with reception and was told that they weren't sure when he would be able to call me back!

If there were any empty rooms on above floors that would have been a little better - but it was a very good price.
