Recommendation:  By Mr.Daniel Van Hoy  Hong Kong My family and i stayed here during the christmas holiday. we were upgraded to a fantastic suite with a bigger-than-king size bed. this room had a wide range amenities, a fantastic bathroom, large walk-in closet, and nice desk area. it is located in ... a convenient part of xi'an not far (walking distance) from the bell tower, city wall, muslim area and lots of shopping and restaurants. staff are friendly and helpful. We did not try any of the restaurants in the hotel complex, but ate two dinners across the street at a great chinese restaurant. frankly, overall, this is the best hotel we have ever stayed at, period. Highly recommended!
sightseeing info: the train station is relatively close as well, but a bit far to walk for some. from there you can catch a mini-bus to see the terracotta warriors and other sites in that area (914 bus (rmb 5)gets you there but part of the route is over a very bad road. . . Try one of the other tan colored mini-buses going to the city (rmb 7) nearby and then get a taxi to take you around to the various attractions (rmb30). Taxi's are cheap around xi'an but beware of the driver who wants to take you the long way.
