The Sofitel in Queenstown NZ is spaceous and comfortable. We had a fantastic stay and would return any time. It is situated right in the centre of the town, a short walk from the lakeside and is surrounded by fantastic shops and restaurants.
We loved the luxury after travelling around for 2 weeks and stayed 2 extra days. The facilities in the room and extras in the bathroom were second to none.

We slept really well and the staff were helpful and polite

A couple of minor points:
When we booked online we booked a room with a lake view (and paid extra). We did have a lake view, but maybe it should be explained somewhere the hotel is set quite far back from the water and the view (however stunning) is in the distance!

The buffet breakfast was adequate but although the fruits and cereals were excellent, the cooked elements were not very hot and as the plates were not heated, the food soon went stone cold. Also getting enough tea and coffee seemed to be a problem. There were no fried eggs or omelettes on offer.

The breakfast we had delivered to the room one morning was completely AMAZING and didn't cost any more than the buffet (on our room rate), so its worth checking this out. The crayfish omelette was out of this world.

Overall, highly recommended and a huge contrast to many of the usual NZ motels.

This is one of the few hotels I have visited which lived up to expectation from photos and website information.
