Our 6 night stay was most enjoyable.The breakfast was excellent with everything imaginable to choose from, in particular the many chilled fresh fruit juices- some common, others more unusual. The fresh fruit was also delicious. There was also the opportunity to sit either inside or out.
The pool area is wonderful the staff always cheerful and helpful setting up your sun bed with towels to lie on and to rest your head on. After a hard day by the pool,if not eating in the hotel there are lots of good eating places serving different types of food. Eden seafood restaurant is excellent- in particular the drunken prawns.On your return to the hotel engage in a bit of bartering for souvenirs to take home.If you play golf (or even if you don't)Look out for the pitch and put hidden away near the beach. 365 meters in all but in pristine condition an ideal way to spend an hour. All in all an excellent place to holiday.

The Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa Penang
was amazing. The location felt secluded not that you would ever need to leave the resort. However it was close to fantastic night markets and cheap places to eat and drink.
The staff were faultless. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff from the waiters, barmen and conceirges to the gardeners, lifegaurds and security. Everyone was friendly and attentive.
The facilities were incredible with pools, gym, bars, restaurants all exceptional. The breakfast buffets enourmous with excellent food and lazing by the pool drinking cocktails and having a massage was absolute luxury.
While expensive the Rasa sayang is definetly worth it and we would definately go back. While we stayed in the garden wing which is more basic we were still more than comfortable. However we would love to return and stay in the Rasa wing where the rooms are absolute luxury and the inclusions well worth the extra money for anyone wanting to just spend time at the resort and eat and drink.

Absolutly fantastic place, excellent and friendly staff. The boys behind the Penang Bar were great fun and entertaining which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The hotel was recommended by a colleague and met our expectations. The staff were pleasant and helpful and we found the ambience and location quite relaxing. The location is excellent for access to the beach and local shops / restaurants. We would recommend the hotel to those looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday at a hotel with most of the amenities expected of such a hotel.
