Q4.Is there a tourist area within easy reach of the hotel?
Yes. Sanur is one of Bali's favourite beach destinations. It is a pleasing alternative to the frantic activity of Kuta for those who prefer a slower, but nonetheless stimulating pace. The gleaming white sands of the miles and miles of beach are sheltered from the surf by a coral reef, creating a lazy lagoon. It is perfect for children and families. The shoreline walkway fringed by palm trees and lush green shrubs connects delightful beachside eateries and market stalls selling inexpensive souvenirs. At night many restaurants feature cultural performance at reasonable prices. Along Tanjung Sari, Sanur's central avenue which runs parallel to the beach is a colourful assortment of shops and stalls competing for the attention of passing tourists. On sale are a range of quality handicrafts, as well as homewares and casual to designer label clothing. As dusk approaches, a cosmopolitan atmosphere pervades as Sanur's extensive range of restaurants is there to be explored. Sanur also boasts an active nightlife, but on a smaller scale to Kuta. Many of south Bali's watersports facilities are centred in Sanur with windsurfing and trips beyond the reef on traditional fishing boats are extremely popular. Sanur is also quite a good place to learn to dive, as the local diving sites are close by. All Sanur dive centres run certificated diving courses and one-day diving excursions (including tanks and weights only) for US$60-80. Despite being a premier tourist area. Sanur still maintains its traditions. Only a stone throw away from the beach, ancient temples stand solemn as they have been in centuries past. It is still essentially a sleepy fishing community with an accent on pure relaxation.
