Ideal location for our needs. It had everything that we needed to make our stay comfortable. Very comfortable and met our needs well.

The Mercure Welcome were not allowed to use the swimming pool or spa though it was sign posted around the hotel, it seem pretty ridiculous to split hotel in half. then the spa was not in use which did not have any sign at all nor in the swimming area. also i expect when i book the money comes out of bank straight away, though it apparently went in after stay, after the lady tried to get me to pay for accommodation, this means i would of paid twice after refusing to pay as going on holiday i had spent a bit. before i even arrived at the hotel i noticed the money didn't go out so i e-mailed and spoke to them on the phone which they had confirmed it was fine, but no. Pretty small, not much of view. good for one night stay
Reception very helpful when rung TV broke down twice. Water was dripping from the roof into the bath on one occasion. Had booked a twin room, got given a double room, had to advise
Bar closed early, mini bar in room had little in it, so no substitute. Perfect city centre location though. The room was clean, but it smelt slightly of urine. There was also a lack of storage space - no drawers or shelves for clothes, just the hangers in the warbrobe.
The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was very good value and the staff were all lovely. We will be using this hotel again when we are staying in the city. The air conditioner didnt seem to be working very well, but i think this was because it was 40+ degree's so we under stood. It wasnt unbearable.
One day the bathroom has been attended but not the bed.
The service provided by the staff was excellent. The lady at the information counter, in particular, was most helpful. The room was clean but the bed was a little too soft.
