Sarangnova Hotel Kota Kinabalu is located right in the middle of Kota Kinabalu's central business district 98, Gaya Street where banks, restaurants and shopping malls congregate. Guests are a stone's throw away from them while Jesselton Point, gateway to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, is within walking distance.
Gaya Street (then Bond Street) probably the first street in Kota Kinabalu, was then just a row of thatched wooden shop houses until 1951 when the Governor of North Borneo (as Sabah was known then) Sir Ralph Hone laid the foundation stone for the building of the first permanent shop houses in Jesselton (now known as Kota Kinabalu).
