Recommendations
Queenstown is justifiably regarded as the "Adventure Capital of New Zealand" with a huge range of adrenaline pumping activities. There is however a tranquil side to the area. For instance, guests may like to relax with a visit to historic Arrowtown, a old gold mining town with a palpable sense of history.
Another alternative could be a lazy boat trip on majestic Lake Wakatipu.
For those that like to sample the local fruit of the vine, several local wineries offer tours of their facilities, with the opportunity to sample their wines and buy a bottle or two.

Further Comments
The four distinct seasons make anytime a good time to visit. Queenstown is renowned for its clear alpine air, and long summer twilights. Mountain weather can be changeable, so be prepared with warm clothing and wet weather gear all year round.
Summer (Nov-Feb): hot and dry, daytime 19-29°C, nights warm.
Autumn (Mar-Apr): warm balmy days, daytime 15-25°C, cooler nights.
Winter (May-Aug): crisp clear days, daytime 5-10°C, nights cold & frosty.
Spring (Sep-Oct): crisp morning & evening, warm days 9-15°C, cool nights. (city north)
