A rather old hotel

Robertson Quay is a hotel which is rather old looking. my stay there was purely for business so perhaps if one is looking to go down to Singapore on a budget then this hotel is quite okay. What I found personally distressing was of course the fact that a majority of the cab drivers did not know this hotel. So, a worrisome fact there. Other than that the hotel is pretty decent though I think the hotel has GREAT potential to be a classy designer hotel... Timothy Liew Malaysia
Good Value for money
Our stay at Robertson Quay was for two nights. The room was basic and about a 20 min walk to the nearest MRT station, Clarke Quay. The breakfast was basic as well. Overall it was a good hotel for the money.
This is a budget hotel without most of the amenities that travellers would expect even of a budget hotel. You get just the basics. The hotel is in a very good location, at Robertson Quay, and only a 4 min walk to Clark Quay. It is also a convenient location from which to easily get a taxi (sometimes very difficult in Singapore). Lots of good restauarants nearby. The staff are helpful and courteous. The room was clean. Most of the clientele are leisure, family, and even backpackers. The hotel has a very, very casual atmosphere. The rooms are in poor shape and they desperately need to be refurbished. The rooms are extremely small, which would be fine, if the rooms were well decorated, with better amenities and custom furniture. Beds are short and on the small side. Insufficient bedding and pillows provided. A new hotel is under construction right beside the hotel however, this onlycreates noise in the daytime and the room is so small guests will not be spending any extra time in their rooms, so this should not a problem.
Rooms were extremely small and pokey. Service was non-existent. It was reasonable cheap but I would still go elsewhere next time.
small and smelly
Don't go here. The rooms are tiny and they spray them full of air freshener so that it's hard to breathe. The staff are unhelpful. The food is poor. The spa is silly. The pictures look great but you would never know you were in the same building. Even in the elevator, when you looked at the pictures, you had to wonder how it was possible to be in the same location but the reality so different. Bizarro world.
Could have been better ...
While the location was very good, but i found the hotel very sloppy and stingy in terms of amenities in the rooms, basic things like water glasses, creams and shampoos were not there . The so called continental buffet breakfast was a sham - We had breakfast one day but the entire exp was sad, no fruits , empty trays of chicken sausages .. all in all a hopeless breakfast, we went out to have breakfast after the first one . Hardly any staff we interacted , front desk was polite . Pls give very realistic picture and description on the internet otherwise as tourists we walk into deals which don't make for a pleasant holiday ! Regards Moushumi Dutt
Avoid This Hotel
The Robertson Quay Hotel was cheap, so not a lot was expected. It was rated as 3 Star, but that must be a self-rating as the rooms were very basic and in poor condition. The rooms were very small and in need of refurbishing. Lots of marks on the carpet and stains on the walls. The ceiling was also covered in a nasty stain!! The air-conditioning worked well, which it should have in such a small room. the 'big' bed was a standard double, but quite comfortable. The bathroom was the tiniest one I have ever seen in a hotel. You could literally sit on the toilet and hold the shower hose above your head. Everything was soaked, including the carpet outside the bathroom. Judging by the faded water stains, this is a regular occurance. The bathroom also had bare white brick walls and a hideous orange sink. No other amenities in the bathroom at all. Nothing. The continental breakfast on offer consisted of sausages, baked beans and toast. No juice, just some cordial drink. This does NOT constitute a continental breakfast, but at least it was edible. The staff were not overly friendly or helpful. The only redeaming feature was the hotel's location. It was very close to Clarke Quay and the MRT. Lots of good eating nearby. I have stayed in Singapore 9 times, and I will never stay at this hotel again. Far better to pay an extra $30 a night and stay in a better hotel.
Room
The bed was too near the air-cond vents Bathroom shower in an awkward position. Can smell cigarette smoke outside my room. No cardboard.
