You should rather go for tiles or some synthetic material.

The same money spent anywhere else in the region would provide far higher standards.

We were in Singapore for 8 nights and could not stay in such cramped quarters. Bed was short (I'm 173 cm!). Bathroom was moldy around shower (needs Exit Mold!). We asked for a larger room but apparently we had the largest.

Luckily this did not spoil our holiday as very little time was spent in the hotel itself. The Bathroom was particularly small and the fact they only had one sliding door to separate it from the bedroom area emphasised the fact, as it would be impossible to have two doors and be able to use the toilet. Also we had just arrived when a "bug sprayer" came in unannounced and proceeded to spray around the floor with some unknown spray which could have been toxic for all we knew.

However, the hotel is quite far away from the MRT station.
