Understanding Management

Recommendation:  by Debra K Graf

Suitable for: Business

My husband and I traveled to Panama this past Fall and there was a mix up and the hotel room was booked twice, for the same night, by accident. (it was my mistake)
Management took care of the problem and choose to charge us only once even though it was perfectly within their right to charge us for two rooms.
We were most appreciative and highly recommend this hotel to others traveling to Panama.

Hotel needs work

Recommendation:  by Niels Larsen

Suitable for: Business

This review is mainly for the management rather than for travelers:
The hotel is starting to show wear and tear, and as such, there is a need for some work being done. For example, during our total of three different rooms we stayed in during three different periods, the toilet was not functioning on arrival in two of them (the staff did their best to help), and in one room, the bathroom door needed replacements. One of the lamps had the wall on-off not working, so someone had post-fitted an on-off switch on the lamp itself. These things is what I would expect in a hotel around $40, not $75-80.

The restaurant also deserves a word: at the last stay, the restaurant was being touted as a Gourmet restaurant, but did not live up to that standard. A gourmet restaurant never uses frozen or canned vegetables, uses tenderloin for a filet mignon, etc: obviously opposite of what this particular one did. Servers were OK, but not to the level of Gourmet: that takes a sufficient number of servers so that you dont have to wait for service, they should have time to (and training to) ask if a steak should be medium, rare or medium/rare up front, and have time to come back asking about the taste of the food 1/4 through the meal.

For the food served, the restaurant is way overpriced. Cocking and dishes equated to what I have had in cafeterias in Denmark, not what I have had in restaurants.

Aesthetically pleasing and very near airport. The room was nicely appointed and had a nice patio at poolside.
