The staff are all good and helpful and they are very polite and they show smiling face all the times. We signed up all inclusive package which is really worth to the value. The overall environment make you feel very relaxing. Good food, spacious room, nice swimming pools and very clean beach and definitely we will be back again. Highly recommended and they valued customers more than just earn money!

We really loved our stay at Tanjung Rhu in Langkawi located at a beautiful beach. Two 60 meter! pools with pool bars, very nice staff, beautiful landscape. We enjoyed to go out kanueing in the sea and looking at the beautiful little islands and mangroves. There are 3 excellent restaurants and a 24 hours room services. Food and service are like in a 5 star restaurant, really nice. Take the all-inclusive packacke. It is well worth it, otherwise you find the prices a bit expensive for Malaysia. But with the package it is excellent. We will come again. Best for couples or families. Nogo for singles.

Excellent hotel in beautiful grounds. Stunning beach especially to get married on as we did. Extremely friendly staff. Great food - all inclusive option reccommended. A bit remote as there are no other hotels or restaurants nearby but ideal for total relaxation.

This is a very nice resort. We stayed in the resort twice (Dec 2007 and Jun 2008) and we are now planning our third visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful. They would look into every little detail and would assist you to the best of their ability.

The food is great in the resort. Go for the "All-inclusive" package.

Excellent location, very attentive staff, good food and well appointed room. Reception and travelling to and from airport well organised. Would thoroughly recommend this resort.
Barbeque on the beach for two can be spoilt by wind gusts - full charge still made for spoilt food.
Have doubts if the European wines are well stored. Both times that we tried wine was "över the top". Australian was OK

We stayed at the Tang Rhu for three nights in early Feb 2008, our only complaint was that it was too short. Four or Five nights would have been better.

The resort is off a very high quality through out. The accommodation was very nice and spacious. we were in a Cahaya Room, the bathroom was enormous, the bed was erormous it was very nice and worth paying a little extra.

We (my wife and I) stayed on the all inclusive meal plan, booked in advance. This is highly recommended. You get breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening meal, mini bar, room service, drinks by the pool including ice cream floats and smoothies plus free use of wind surfing and boat sailing all included. The only exception to all of this is alcoholic drinks, that you have to pay for. There are three nice rest's to eat in the resort all with differant menu's and the food was off a very high standard.

For info - Food prices are OK by UK standards but are high compared to Malaysia. Wine in particular is expensive at 200 - 500 RM a bottle. Other drinks were fine - Gin and Tonic was 15 RM, a small beer 11 RM.

The beach and pools are super and the level of service is 5 star.

Transport to and from the hotel in again included in the all inclusive rate and is good.

The only slight downside is the location of the hotel on the island. The resort location is great, next to perhaps the best beach on the island, however, the resort is tucked away in a corner of the island and some people just stayed in the resort and did not see much of the island which is perhaps a shame. I say perhaps because the resort is so nice that it is very difficult to drag yourself away.

We stayed in two other resorts in Langkawi on this trip and spend the last three days at the T Rhu.

A great location for up to a week and especially for those on honeymoon or who want an upscale resort on a great beach.

We stayed at their busiest time over the christmas/new year period, when the hotel was full, and at no time did we have to queue, wait, not find a sun bed, or all the usual things you find in a hotel that is full.

This hotel is situated in such a location that you can not but have a romantic time. The location is remote, so not much to do during the day without a 30 mins transit outside the resort, but that is the hotels selling point. There are some free activities, some reasonably priced activies (ie mangrove kayaking), and they do provide a shuttle bus to Kuah town at a very reasonable cost. It is not a place for young families or those that want to be active all day. After 4 days we had run out of things to do at the hotel.

The facilities are good, excellent pools, sun beds, beach. The food is also good and excellent well prepared, but having to book a table in 'the Rhu' at 0600 is not good, even if it is the premier restaurant. The other restuarants do not have the same issue. The food is good, and the all inclusive food/none alcholic beverages is essential. Alcohol is reasonable, but wine VERY expensive.

There is not much in the way of entertainment other than a band by the 'SANDS' pool. But this is not the hotel for a busy social night life.

Staff are all very friendly, all wear name badges so you can say 'HI' to the gardener as well as the front of house staff.

It is a hotel in Malaysia so somethings may seem not to be quite the same as US or European standards, but being on holiday in such a location was magical.
We had read some bad reports about staff attitudes, condition of furniture, towels, sun beds, but have to say our experiance was that all were acceptable for a hotel that appears to be very popular with all nationalities.

As with many remote hotels, there are some 'stalls' along the beach, but are discreet and do not impact on this fabulous location.

If you want something more liveliy this is not the hotel for you (try the Pentai Cheang area), but if you are after a really relaxing time then that is ensured.

Most of us have been to many beach resorts throughout the world - it could be highly popular (and expensive) resorts like the Maldives, or nearer to home like Phuket or Bali, or even closer to home like Bintan or Batam. We are cloistered in our respective resorts with their own private beach and spa - it shouldn't make a difference, right? The Tanjung Rhu all-inclusive package offers an excellent room, breath-taking beach front, world-class cuisine, friendly and efficient staff for a very reasonable price and I will most certainly be back and recommend this to my friends and families (this was incidentally highly recommended to me by relatives and colleagues).

We picked this hotel primarily because of its reputation of the best beach on the island and from what we saw it certainly was after hiring a car and looking around the island. The hotel was only 30 mins from Kuah although we rarely had the urge to leave the resort because it was so nice. We opted for the all inclusive package, which meant you could order any food any restaurant any time as much as you liked and I've got to say it is some of the better food we have encountered. This hotel certainly is better than some of your well known 5 star international boring hotels, with the same food on the menus in every one of their locations around the globe. It ranged from wood fired pizza at the poolside bar to mediterranean/arabic style food at Saffron beachside restaurant to the french inspired menu, silverservice The Rhu restaurant. Even though the beach and the water were superb (compared to Australian standards) the pool complexes were lovely. We were travelling with a 2 year old and 4 year old and I believe it has been the best, most relaxing family holiday we have had so far. The kids loved it. We loved it. We met many people there that come back every year or were either on their second or third visit back there. We will definitely go back to Langkawi and this hotel will be the one.

We stayed at the Tanjung Rhu resort in July 2007 for 9 nights in the Bayu Senja room overlooking the beach. It must be said some rooms 'overlooking' the beach have a better view than others as the resort kind of 'curves' around, our room was partly ocean and partly pool, I considered asking to change rooms for one that had a full ocean view but we were travelling with little ones and those rooms were closer to restaurants etc which may have been a bit noisy for them - our room was very peaceful, we didnt even hear people next door. The rooms were massive with a lounge area which could be shut off (we put the baby in there to sleep), a huge bathroom that could also be shut off (our 3 year old slept in there), and a lounge / bed area which opened up to a second balcony where my huband and I were able to sit up and watch TV, read, or have a drink of an evening, I was thoroughly impressed with the size of the room as theres nothing worse than having to turn the TV off when the kids go to bed because youre all in the same room!! We considered the Anjung room which is bigger but were told by other guests the jacuzzi takes up all the extra room so if the actual room size is important the senja would be best, but if youre there for romance I'd go the jacuzzi option! The food was lovely but I was a little disappointed when I asked if we could order from any of the restaurants and have it delivered to our room (sometimes the kids were just too tired to go out at night) and we were told we could but we'd have to pay full price for the meals - we were on the all inclusive package so it wasnt worth it - they even rejected our suggestion that we go and collect it from the restaurant, I was a bit disappointed in this as the room service menu was a bit limited and we ate in on 4 occasions so I got a bit bored...it didnt seem as though it would be that hard to accomodate this simple request. On the whole though the resort was lovely, all three pools were superb and the staff were all most welcoming, warm and friendly - lovely to our children too. The all inclusive package is definately the way to go, we didnt eat at the Rhu (we'd be too rushed with kids to enjoy it) but all other guests raved about it. We met three other families whilst there who were all on their 2nd and 3rd visits - it is a perfect place for a family holiday when you just want to get somewhere and sit by a pool or the beach for days on end without having to move around. Special mention goes to Fendi at the artisans hut who was wonderful with the kids and a delight to spend time with. Wani at breakfast was also delightful. The staff at the spa were wonderful also and the Yoga sessions on the roof top simply magnificent. We loved this resort and would return again.

The food at the Rhu was a little disappointing. However, the ambience was very good. The room was cleaned everyday. A small box of chocolate and daily program that were left on the bed each evening were much appreciated.

Hope hotel provide more various entertainment programs. Overall, I was pretty much satisfied with room in every repects.
