city center location. easy walk to shops , food ,market.

This Hotel is excellent value for the price. The location is excellent with a short walk to Sky City, the Bus Station, and also the Downtown area. The staff are always very helpful and very courteous. I have now had a number of visits to this Hotel and my impressions are always the same. Excellent value.

We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as we went to the "We will rock you" show and the hotel was just around the corner. The hotel is in a great location with Skycity right behind it. The room we were in had just the basics but it was clean and tidy. I found the bed very hard but, my husband did'nt seem to mind.
We definitly would'nt recommend the breakfast! The bacon, egg and sausage was'nt nice at all!
We found the staff to be very courteous and helpful, whenever we asked for something we got it.
Overall, we would stay there again as it's in a great location and excellent value for money.

i would recommend this hotel. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Location was perfect! Just a walk away from anywhere in Downtown and just right beside the best entertainment city in Auckland. Our stay was just like home.

The Rainbow Hotel is an excellent value Hotel, with an excellent location, only a few minutes walk to the Inter City Bus Station, Sky City, and the Aotea Centre. It also is only a short walk to the Auckland Waterfront. The staff are always very courteous and very helpful.

Got put in a room without windows and even when that was changed, you couldn't see out of them. Better off either paying more or just hitting a hostel.

Computers in the foyer old and outdated, few facilities to offer. Location central and reception staff friendly and helpful. Room 227 was poorly lit with ceiling lights and there was no reading lamp provided which made it hard to read ppaers and write reports in the week I was at the conference. No radio alarm provided for early morning wake ups and the TV program coverage very very limited for guests who do not speak Chinese, Japanese or any other foreign language.

Excellent location and good value for money for this category of hotel.

We were all very impressed with the value for money in relation to access to central city. The hotel was lovely and clean and felt safe. Although on arrival the first room I was allocated had not been cleaned I could see the staff were very embarrassed and very obliging to relocate me immediately close to my colleagues.

Seems to cater mainly for Asian people. Getting understood was sometimes hard. No airconditioning. Hard mattress on bed

Rooms without a window should not be allowed to be used as a room. You cannot tell what time of the day it is when there's no natural light. This room should be used for storage only and is not fit to have guests in. The 1st time I stayed at this hotel I was very pleased with the room. On the second occasion paying the same amount we received a very poor room. the view out of the window was into a dark stairwell and the size was very small.

This is an excellent value Hotel with very helpful and very courteous staff. The location is also excellent being very close to Sky City, the Bus Station and the Airport Bus.

Taxi to the airport: I've asked at the reception how much a taxi to the airport costs and I was told that it costs 39 NZ$.

Breakfast very pleasant experience but needs a little attention to small things. I really loved our waitress. Pillow not quite sufficient bulk

Free internet was nice but some people monopolized them for hours-I didn't want to make a scene & bring it to the attention of the staff at the desk. We stayed twice within a one week period. The 2 rooms we tried the second stay both smelled smoky but staff were trying very hard to alleviate the problem (powdered the carpet,had fans running in hallway). I'm assuming these used to be smoking rooms (228,229) & you may not alleviate the smell unless carpets are changed. In 229 the head of the bed seemed low, giving me severe neck cramps the whole next day.It was better the next night when I asked for a second pillow.

We had to have the air conditioning turned off because of the cold and noise factors. We were told the air conditioning could only be either on or off, which was very uncomfortable either way We were appalled that there was no window and very worried because if there had been a fire, we would have had no escape route. This rather spoilt the night.

i have never visited new zealand-this would have been my first trip I never made it to New Zealand. All forms of identifications were stolen from me in Moorea Island. I was to fly to New Zealand the 26 January - yet I flew back to Washington, DC, on 25 January from Tahiti.
