Excellently situated close to Cathedral Square and adjacent to the tram terminus. The lack of a bar or restaurant is not serious because of the proximity of plenty alternatives.

We stayed for 2 nights 16 & 17 Feb 08. We had a 1 bedroom apartment. Hotel was in an excellent location, breakfast was very basic. Rooms were comfortable. However, shower backed up and flooded the bathroom each time we showered. There were some building activites next door, however we were not bothered by them. Location is a short stroll to Cathedral Square and the tourist tram leaves from this building. Must recommend a visit to the botanical gardens and the buildings there - it was fantastic. Internet is free to paying guests at reception - we only found this out as we were checking out, but were still allowed to use it. Overall good stay.

We especially like Quest Christchurch because of its location. We also liked our apartment because we wanted quiet rooms and , although our room faced the covered tramway , it was so quiet we could have the verandah door open.

Reception staff were always courteous and helpful - we asked for a firmer mattress for one bed and they did their best to oblige without naking us feel silly or a nuiscance. We needed the firm mattress because one of us was recovering from a back ailment.

We were surprised that there appeared to be no link between Quest Christchurch and Quest Dunedin? We expected to be able to do onwards bookings through Christchurch Reception.

Again, reception were competent and professional in giving us the 'bad news' about no onward bookings without being defensive in either their verbal or non verbal commumication. Well done!

We also liked having an internet terminal in the foyer, as we weren't carrying our laptop.

The hotel has a perfect location just behind the Cathedral in a new development. That is where the good things about this hotel end.

On trying to check in at 2pm we were told that our rooms would be ready in 5-10 minutes, however it took them over an hour to finally have the room ready whilst we waited around in reception - and they were not willing to allow us to stay on after the 10am check out time to make up for the late check in.

The rooms are nice and large but the loud construction works going on outside put pay to any lazy mornings in bed.

I wouldn't reccommend this hotel as I feel it is overpriced for the amenities available and the staff aren't very helpfull.

A terrific room in the best location, near everything. Free breakfast in your own refrigerator.

When we'll go to Christchurch, we think we reserve again this hotel

A reasonable level of comfort at a fair price in a very central location. Room comfortable but a little sparse. eg no comfortable chairs to sit in in room. Microwave and food preparation area very small.

Car parking should be included into room rate. Surprised to see this charged separately when everywhere else, this is not charged as a separate item. Facilities are good, clean and well maintained. Only comment is one of the bedroom does not have windows to the outside to let in natural lighting. Not a great design.

Mattress far too soft. Exhaust fan in bathroom too noisey.

I only arrived at 2am and left at 7am so can't really comment. appreciate that access was made easy though as no staff on during the night.

great location though something should be done by your city council about the louts who ya ho and keep people awake until 4 in the morning. We were ok overlooking the tram stop but my sister was kept awake overlooking the street. I would recommend tourists don't stay in Christchurch Central on the weekend. Everything was fine.

the location is very good,central.i will definately stay here next time.my family was very happy. rooms were spacious,and comfortable.very clean and modern.

1. There is additional charge for the internet connection, which is not the case for the hotel next door (Off-the-Square).

One of the best that we stayed in over the 16 days we spent in NZ. Bathroom needs shelving to place shaving gear etc. Would like to see sink in bathroom have a single spout for both hot and cold taps.

This particular Quest property was extremely well managed. Great building in a great location. Modest for an apartment.

Excellent location especially for first time visitors of the city since it's conveniently located in one of the Tram Stations.

I had asked for a quiet room and was given that. The only thing I was disappointed with was that it didn't have a kitchen. I didn't realise this when booking as thought all the apartments had a kitchen.

I felt I paid for location which is fair enough, but the room its self was fairly basic, not to mention noisy[street noise] which suprised me. I did feel very safe given the security system though. I liked that. The information folder wasnt up to date and didnt give any clues as to where the shopping centre or dairys might be located. The restaurant service is a great idea, but once again some things needed up dating there as well.

Internet price quoted without GST. Had to pay an extra 12.5%. All other hotels had GST included in cost. Breakfast good.
