we were originally quoted $139 per night, and when we left we were charged $159 per night and did not have the room asked for. room was riddled with ants, and nothing was done about it, apart from being given some ant spray, to deal with the problem ourselves.

The reception was across the road from our room. Had two fused bulbs when we first arrived. Hotel told us that housekeeping doesn't check that. Called them twice to fix it didn't arrive had to go across the road to reception.

It was delightful that the room was air-conditioned. After roasting in a Queenstown hotel room without a/c, it was a pleasant surprise to walk into a cool room in Auckland.

desk clerk on duty as we checked in was very helpful especially as we had just completed 22 hours of travel carpet looked as if a truck convention had taken place,otherwise things were ok
