I liked this hotel very much. The breakfast is good with a reasonable price. The location is fantastic, just beside there are car rentals with good prices. It is easy to reach from the airport. Outstanding!

This hotel is close enough to gain some excersise as you walk into the city, and convenient to the churches and hospital. I will continue to stay here each time I go to the city.

I rang to confirm our details and discovered we had not been given the twin room I requested when booking through the travel service. Happily we were able to get a twin room that was set up for the disabled, which is exactly what we should have but i did not realise that hotels were setting up rooms for the disabled. We were very happy with the room and the location of the hotel was exactly right for us on this occasion. The staff who took my initial call was very polite and obliging. Only down side was that we could not find an ACROD bay marked and it was supposed to be there. We were able to unload at the door so that was ok this time.

Hotel is in a good location in St Kilda and not far from the beach. Many bars and restaurants are close by which compensates somewhat for the lack of hotel facilities.

We had some hassle initially with getting the room we had booked. However staff were helpful and sorted the problem out the following day.

Hotel bar and restaurant are good and there is a gym on the top floor.

I booked an executive room which I only got after particularly asking for it.

The pictures of the room on-line were decieving. While the room I had was clean, it did not compare to the charming room in the photo.

everything was lovely apart from the food in the restaraunt, it was very poor quality, wouldn't have minded spending more to get nicer food.

Being allocated your remote for the TV at reception was a little odd - I started to have concerns about the type of hotel and the kind of customers it attracted. Need for Iron/ironing Board

Breakfast was a disgrace, my chair was dirty and so was our table. Knifes and forks that were used were taken away, and the rest put on the table. Never have I seen this behaviour in a resturant before, not do I ever wish to see it again. I asked for a childs bed to be made up and that was not done.

Suited our requirements

We may not have been the 'typical' client for The Ambassador, but we still should have been treated with respect. Unfortunatley this was not always the case.

Close to centre of town, good value for money considering price of some other hotels in the area. A little dated, but spacious.

breakfast in the hotel was very expensive. I had a continental breakfast which was only about $3 cheaper than the full cooked breakfast- I think it was $12 which is a bit expensive for a bit of toast and a cup of coffee It was a little faded, but everything was well-maintained and worked.

Easily acessible by car with ample free parking for hotel guests - plus point. Room lighting is quite dim for reading purposes.

We have fully satisfied hospitality,especially equipted bath tub and they kept our baggage in store for our convenience.
