The only fault I have with this hotel is that it is very noisy.We were on the first floor-with noise from the bar below.Sounded like furniture being moved around most of the night.

It is certainly a unique hotel, not big but real value for money. Credit must be given to whoever designed the interior given the limitation of space(the hotel is sandwiched between 2 other buildings). I like the storage system; a kind of DIY stuff whereby you put your luggage into a compartment on arrival before the room is ready and retrieve it when you return at checking in time. Convenient, user-friendly and safe. Another great feature is the location of the hotel, I mean you come out of the lift lobby and right in front of you (barely 5 paces) is George St. Another good system is the secret code given to individual guests to return to their rooms after 10pm. That's security for you! A special word for the reception staff; they know Sydney like the back of their hands. The lounge area with settees, a drink dispenser, etc provides a good meeting place for friends to meet up and relax. The single-bed room I stayed in was cheery, bright and cosy. Much thought must have been put into the layout of the furniture etc, thus giving a lot of space for movement. I appreciate the fact that the glass panels for the shower area, the mirror, the basin and toilet bowls were spotlessly clean when I first entered the room. Although I stayed only one night, I felt good and comfortable. And best of all, a restful feeling when in bed.

A great location - we walked everywhere and really enjoyed being in Chinatown area. Room was on the street side of hotel and was very noisy in the evenings (until about midnight). That was the only negative issue.

The location is very good adn the lounge is actually very spacious and welcoming. Lockers are very helpful too, but a little too pricey. The rooms are ok. However I developed some rashes after my 2 night of stay and doctor diagnosed as insect bite or bed bugs. I am not sure if it is from the bed since I haven't gone to the beach or done any other activities that could have exposed my skin to such bites.

Best point has to be its excellent location in Chinatown providing easy access to Paddys Market and eateries and restaurants selling anything from Chinese, Japanese to Western meals. The security features are also worth highlighting: lifts, access doors and of cause the rooms themselves could only be operated using security access cards. Only complaint is the steep rental rate for the luggage lockers - most hotels safe-keep customers' luggage free-of-charge. The room was small but otherwise good. Top marks for cleanliness of bed, towels, bathroom and CARPETS.

The only problem was noise from the area below our window and of no fault to Pensione

Bed had a nice mattress, better then is some more expensive hotels. I wish it was a little bigger.

the staffs are very kind and patient no simple things, like brush, slippers. feel inconvenient, in fact, all other things are good, why save this little money, which affect the impression on the hotel.

I'd recommend this hotel once you've added bedside lamps. Bedside lamps would be very useful, especially in the interior rooms.

Good value for money, but lucky we had a room on quieter side of hotel. George Street side would have been very noisy, as rooms are not sound-proof.

I assumed that we would get a double room.

Room was very small and had room for little but the bed. However, for our purposes that was just fine - we were only using it to sleep in.

Could do with some minor additions for instance , coat hangers, light switch by the bed, better instructions for the air conditioning

Excellent location but the floor were uneven (too many steps) making it difficult if you have heavy luggages Drafts were coming through the window. Felt cold during the nights.

Never staying here again. Would not stay here again.

One overnight stay prevented us from using the additional facilities and makes it difficult to comment further. Three teabags not sufficient. Would have liked another pillow. Step down outside our room (307)needs some sort of warning - I nearly fell!

we have spent five nights in this hotel and all five nights there was noise every night coming from other rooms loud music and waking up at 7 for drilling and hammering,and the worst was when checkin out we asked for a bit of compensation the srait answer was from the manager that we had five days to check out and it is our fault that we have stayed even that we have complained every time. walls of the rooms are only plaster board very noisy

the sfaff were very nice and the hotel always looked clean. But i dont think i would stay there agen. i would rather pay a little extra and have a little more. The room was very noisey and small. The soap was never replaced in the room. the air conditioning was very good and it is nice to stay in a hotel that you can open the windows if you wish.

Small but perfect as we only slept there, were out all day
