Recommendation: By Mr.David Pollard USA We chose the hotel to be near the gare de lyon. It is not near the gare, despite the name. We had to walk 20 min. With our suitcases. Our son arrived from germany late the 1st night. We had alerted the desk, but the receptionist could not locate our ... room, even though it was right behind his desk! there was a bar menu and our son asked for a coke--they had none. So he asked for any of several other beverages on the menu but they had none of them. Finally he said, "well, what do you have?" and was told, "water. ". Room 1: small, cramped, dark, on the ground floor right on a very busy street, with dark metal shields on windows which could not be opened. Unacceptable. We requested a change and though they had nothing else available that night, we got a much better room the 2nd night: 8th floor, large, airy, light, nice view. Otherwise we would have left after 1 night.
