The room was exceptionally small, uncomfortably so. This was a problem as we had a large suitcase each, plus hand luggage, as we were touring Australia for 6 weeks from the UK, and there was little room to move. The bathroom was very tired, cracked tiles.

The hot breakfast was overcooked and overpriced, but the location made for easy access to many alternative eating places.

On the plus side, the seaviews were brilliant, the staff were cheerful and polite.

Under the above question "what kind of stay do you think this Hotel is good for?" 'short' should be an option!

Bed seemed too small for queen

The service from staff at the hotel was excellent. All staff were extremely helpful with travel tips, booking day tours and transport assistance. We didn't spend much time in our room, was perfect for what we needed.

staff were great, but after staying at the westin for a couple of days first, i'd have rather paid the little extra a room cost there next time upgraded room was nice, but, the room we should have got was not worth the money!!!!, size is based on the room paid for, the one we received was fantastic!!!!

Service in the bar downstairs was not good neither were the cocktails. The rest was great. Our first room was tiny but front desk were very accommodating and changed our room which was great.

Over-priced for size/facilities

The close proximity of the hotel to the trams made it very good for getting into the city.Staff were very friendly and accommodating making our stay extremely pleasant The rooms were clean and functional but decor lacks warmth

Great too see place has been freshened up with painting of the public space.

In room service was allways delayed and required a reminder phone call, or on some occasions never responded. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. We did however complain to reception on 3 occasions. Air conditioning failure. Poor in house maintainence of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical services. I mannage a small maintainence co. in Sydney. and have a simple yet affective maintainence program that troubleshoots all services for industrial, commercial, residential and retail. Your in house TV/VIDEO/DVD reception not satisfactory and your hot and cold water delivery to bathing facillities needs complete overhaul.

Came into Melbourne early on day of arrival- asked before and on arrival for early access to room, asked to be contacted if room was ready earler- no accommodation for this, no explanantion- just given "standard reply"- when we arrived back room obviously empty for some time.
