The employee of the hotel was very kind. The night view whose sky tower can be seen is the highest view. Fantastic! We did not expect that it was a gorgeous room as that. The room was a room which it is large, is quiet and can settle down. And out of the window, the sky tower could be seen, and it was a very beautiful night view.

Some staff didn't seem to comprehend or speak good enough English, so interaction was poor and not to the standard one would expect in a city hotel. One was unhelpful, but most did their best. Each room we stayed in had very squeaky internal doors - hinges needed oiling. One faced the street and was very noisy; it was also very small. No cork screw or wine glasses.

Hotel was not good value for money. Parking in the city was expensive. The main bedroom bed was 2 singles beds pushed together rather than a king as advertised.

FRONT DEST PERSONNEL COULD BE A BIT MORE FRIENDLY. ADDITIONAL PILLOWS WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE.

Unfortunately we found Saturday night, sunday morning very noisey.

Would have been good to have a Gym/Pool linked directly to the Hotel. Ambience was a bit run-down. Thought my room price was a bit too expensive for the overall quality. Fantastic Hot Water pressure in the shower, thank you! The TV was a bit fuzzy on particular stations. The wardrobe was on the small side. Other than that, was a good size to spread out.

Staff was outstanding and very friendly. Good attention to our traveling needs. Would stay again if we make it back "downunder"

There was night front office gentleman - I forgot his name - who was most helpful. The kettle in the room I was in was faulty and he had a new one ready when I went downstairs to get the replacement. Also helpful with landry procedures and operation. Point to note - perhaps regular checks of electrical appliances is something to consider - if I had not been standing near the kettle I wouldn't have known that it was faulty ie did not switch off by itself and started to emit a burnt smell and the WHOLE kettle was boiling hot. TV was suspended too high - ended up with neck ache... Even after pushing the sofa as far back as it could go. Main radiator was in the lounge - perhaps consider some form of heating in the room too?

The hotel continental breakfast was awful. I regret spending NZD 25 on the two breakfasts. Besides being served in a hot, noisy, cramped hotel meeting room, the food was of poor quality and didn't even match the description given in the hotel information. For instance, "Fresh fruit platter" was actually canned fruit salad, with fruit flies buzzing around. "Ham and cheese" was of the lowest possible quality. And half of the juices listed in the advertisement for the breakfast were not served whatsoever. Great air conditioning unit.

There were no bar, lunch or dining facilities. The only lounge was the front foyer. This is inconvenient for meeting other people. we would like two chairs and space for two to eat breakfast. A safe for passports, jewellery etc would be convenient.

Excelent location, very helpful staff, the perfect N.Z. jumping point. Well Done! well equiped, perfectly accommodating.

The staff at the front desk were not always up to speed on what was going on. We lost our luggage on the flight over, and we were awaiting Air NZ's delivery of it. The front desk told us it had not arrived, but in fact it was in our room when we went upstairs! A minor point, but hotel users should know. Surprisingly quiet, given that the street we faced was busy and noisy.

Decor was very bland. Curtain nets at windows seemed to be in need of a wash but otherwise the room was satisfactory.

My only comment was that it seemed a bit costly, compared to what else we could have had!

Good value for being such a centrally located hotel, right next to the sky tower...good for families

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite

The location is great - very central and easy to walk to everything. The staff was nice and helpful. It's fine if you just need a place to crash at night. It's definitely bare-bones, just the basics to get you by - not a place if you're trying to treat yourself on holiday. But it's clean and the room was pretty quiet, and they had a lot of television channels.
