This is the first time that I have stayed in a Johore Bahru hotel with hotel water flask in the room itself. Very good especially travelling with young children and old folks.

The hotel is right next door to Holiday Plaza - which has great shopping. Next door to the hotel was also some fast food outlets and a restaurant which was considerably cheaper than the hotels restaurants.
We did eat at two restaurants in the hotel which were very very nice. Breakfast included with the room was awesome - by the end of our stay the lady who marked our room number as we went for breakfast knew our room number without asking...
The staff service was very good. One of our travelling party left money in the safe at our previous hotel in Malaysia and the hotel staff at Mutiara were great at liaising with the staff at our previous hotel to arrange to have the money delivered back to us. We were also given interconnecting rooms (without requesting them) which was great.
We arrived quite early to the hotel on the morning of our check in so we had to wait for the rooms to be cleaned before we could go to our room but the bellman stored our bags for us whilst we explored the hotel and went to the shops next door.
Overall this place was awesome!! It was a little more expensive than any of the other places we have stayed in Malaysia but well worth the money!! Great place to stay if you want to commute over to Singapore - cheaper hotel rate and nicer people. It cost us 10MYR to catch a taxi to the border from outside holiday plaza.
I definitley recommend staying here!!

What I would to see is for the hotel to have a prayer mat and a small bucket available in the room. I have been to Vietnam recently, and stayed at Sheraton hotel, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a prayer mat placed on my bed.

The breakfast was not that great the bread choices seems to not be fresh bec some were hard. However, room service food was of good quality. The room is of good size but the airconditioning was a bit erratic. It will be very cold one moment and a bit warm the next. The bathroom should be kept smelling clean and our tub needs major refurbishing.

Nil I would suggest the toilet to be provide water tape c/w the hose so that convinient for washing purposes.

Easily accessible to nearby shopping centres. Expected the room service menu to be a little bit more variety. Food was good. Room service very good. We would recommend for those who wish to visit Johore to stay in this hotel. Will come back again. so far this is the biggest room that we have stayed in a hotel J.B. Spacious and comfortable for our daughter to move around.

I'm happy during my stay in the hotel. The room is spacious compared to Pan Pacific.

The staff did not seem too friendly, giving a rather intimidating feel. Hope to see an improvement next time. The room is very nice, large and comfortable. It gives a very enjoyable feeling staying in the room.

It was overall a short but wonderful trip. Good for a weekend getaway. The service was good.

On the day I check in about 4.30pm. During my check in, your service counter told me that I need to wait about 1 hour because they need time to clean up the room. But, I did indicated in my booking that I will check in the hotel estimate from 2pm-5pm. So, I think this is the service your need to improved. I am glad that after the Mutiara took over from Holiday Inn, the standard of the hotel still remain. So, I will check in again when I visit JB.

We had a bad encounter with a particular hotel reception staff. On checking in, she said that we were not entitled morning bf despite our printout saying so. Had to get the manager to agreed to the entitlement. On checking out, she ignored our queue and served a Malaysian guest behind us. It was an eye-opener that the staff has become so unfriendly to Singaporeans. We stayed at this hotel for at least 10 times in the past, though the last time was more than a year ago. Will not stay in this hotel again.

The hallways on most floors look worn out. The drinks in the bar were overpriced TV small.

enjoyed the chinese restaurant towels and bed sheets were a bit old

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the hotel. However one unpleasant encounter we experience was we were being awaken and alarmed by the hotel's reception counter at around 1am. We were being questioned on what time did we checked in to the hotel, when are we checking out and the room was booked in whose name. It's very disturbing as after that call, I stayed awake for another 2 hrs before going back to sleep again.
