Staff were fantastic and efficient and breakfast was superb. did not like smoking in the lounge lobby. Hotel getting a bit old and tired, needs some refurbishment. there are a lot of other newer hotels as competition, but the Montien is a great introduction to medium priced accommodation in Bangkok. Next time I would probably stay at the Oriental because of its beautiful position on the river and its fabulous outside dining terrace on the river. Could hear television from next door room and other guests closing their doors. This was quite disturbing.
