My husband and I have stayed many times at this hotel and feel that the standards were better when it was the Mocambo - I have higher expectations from a hotel under the banner of Novotel. We stay at this hotel because of its location to the airport.

My daughter and I actually stayed for a total of 4 nights. The receptionists were warm and friendly, and very attentive and we loved the room. It was very convenient to have "Rosie" at the front desk. We planned a day trip through their agency and it was wonderful. We had a great stay and I hope to return to your hotel in beautiful Fiji someday soon.

We staid there only one night before launch to our island resort. We didn’t really care where to stay – just get something cheap. We also read some strange not very positive reviews about everything being old etc… But as I said, we just needed something cheap and decent. We were really surprised - this place is great! For the cheapest price we got very modern, very well designed unit with high ceilings, clean tidy to stay 2 adults and 2 kids. We had kitchenette LCD cable TV, internet and green balcony with nice view over the garden, and mountains far away, and mango tree next to us. It was mango season and we took mangoes from the tree and we picked them from very well kept grass lawn. And what a taste! – mangoes straight from the tree!!! Fabulous! This place and absolutely great! You can’t get more value for money. Stuff was very nice too. Very nice place. I definitely recommend.

As someone indicated in a review here, the only little glitch was pick-up from airport. The agent made call to Mocambo and they said that bus is on its way. We waited for about 20 minutes and then driver from Mercure hotels asked us whether we are waiting for pick-up. We said we wait for Mocambo. He said: “So nobody came to pick you up a? OK, jump in.” We were the only passengers in the minibus. Then we realised that Macambo does not belong to Mercure Hotels group and we were afraid we have been hustled and we might have lost a few bucks. We asked the driver whether we are in the right bus because we were waiting for courtesy pick-up. He said: “No problem, I will help you, otherwise you wait whole night long” Yee right, like there is such thing as a free lunch… Well, when we arrived, indeed, Mocambo bus was still standing motionless at the premises. Good thing, there was no hustle and driver did not ask anything for his “help”.

Good place to stay

Our stay at the the Mocambo was a pleasant experience. All staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The rooms were well maintained and clean. It's close proximity to the Nadi Airport was very convenient. The restaurant and surrounding pool area was very clean. While the restaurant menu was a bit limited if you stayed for a long period of time, the food was very tasty and presented beautifully.

Convenient to Off shore Islands and Comfortable.

We travel to our Timeshare in the outer islands each year and to date this has been the best and most comfortable overnight hotel. The hotel has several bars and shops and we found we were able to fill in our time waiting for the flights. We were in a renovated room and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. Good one. The only complaint we had was the blanket. A single, scratchy wool blanket had been sandwiched across the bed between two queen sheets. It scratched and wormed it way out of the sheets and in the end I had to remake the sheets and threw the blanket on the floor. A waffle weave queen size blanket is what needed for those cool nights. Change the blanket and I will rate the bed comfort as Excellent.

It could be improved by having more restaurants on site with a variety of food choices.
