1 to 5 The Metropolitan Hotel and Spa New Delhi Reviews

Suitable for: Business

This Hotel is a functional and that is the best that can be said. Although the staff are pleasant and personable it is not a place to make you feel welcome.

The lobby and main reception area does have seats but the staff are not willing to serve drinks even coffee or tea. The bar has been turned into a nightclub type bar playing very load music all the time; have the managament not noticed that nobody uses it!

During my 10 day stay the pool was taken over for corporate events for 3 days and on the other days the maintainance team were grinding the terrace area and it was rendered unusable. This does occur I understand as JAL were probably paying 1000 X what I spent but that is not really the point and no compensation was offered for the inconvenience. The result is that there is nowhere comfortable to sit talk and have a drink and one is made to feel an inconvenience

Finally I was asked to settle my bill part way through my stay as "I had reached the limit that they set of 100,000 IRP. now they accepted my booking made through you so it was hardly a surprise that I was there after 5 days.

This all is a shame as the location is convenient and the day to day staff good. The management do though need to look at the welcome they give guests and make them feel at home as there are many more luxury hotels in New Delhi which combine luxury with an individual touch. The Nikko does, I am afraid not.

the travel desk was a let down. on the first day we wanted to hire a car for the afternoon and they charged us R2,000 for 4 hours. We felt ripped off, especially after we rented a car for 10 hours with Englisg speaking driver for only R800 from an independant travel agent. Really disappointing. This incident a kind of spoilt our stay at the Nikko. Apart from this, all was lovely. room was lovely and clean
