We selected this hotel off the internet, and it exceeded our expectations to a great degree. We have stayed in other Sydney hotels (far more expensive) and in our opinion the Metro is and will be our choice in the future.It is in a great location, the staff was courteous and helpfull, food was great and best of all our room (615) was very quiet, so, we would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, its a good "choice".

Metro location is within easy walking distance for sightseeing, shopping & the Monorail. We walked to the harbours, several museums & the main art gallery from the hotel. The staff are extremely friendly & helpful, even printing out our return etickets for the plane. Housekeeping a little lax occasionally, with the bathroom floor not clean one day & towels forgotten, but everything was quickly put right. Room size & facilities were excellent. We will recommend this hotel & stay again.

OUR STAY WAS FOR THREE DAYS. DURING THIS TIME WE FOUND THE HOTEL TO BE PERFECTLY POSITIONED, WELCOMING AND HELPFUL STAFF. THE ROOMS WERE SMALL AND COMPACT, BUT VERY COMFORTABLE. THE HOTEL MET ALL OUR REQUIREMENTS AND WE WOULD NOT HESITATE TO STAY ANOTHER TIME.

The location of the Metro made it great as we were going to see Pink in concert at the Entertainment centre, so we could walk there without any trouble.
Most of the staff were great but one women was very short with my sister that arrived before the rest of us.
The rooms were clean and the facilities great, but no view out of the window only the building next door.
The price was great as we were only staying overnight.
Three of us had breakfast in the restaurant down stairs and it was good.
I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone wanting a place to stay that is central to everything.

My husband and I stayed at the Metro on Pitt on Saturday night after seeing a show at Acer Arena. It was a convenient location although we drove and had a to park a few blocks away in world square so make sure you have luggage with wheels or someone to carry your bags!!

The room was clean and I liked the complimentary bottles of water! The convenience of being able to walk to various locations in the city was also good!! The staff were friendly and helpful!

Although our trip was full and we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel it was comfortable and the staff service was fantastic thank you

It will be ideal to provide room slippers for the guests.The shower can be made more flexible or adjustable for shorter room guests. The location of the hotel is superb and within easy access to train stations and attractions. Some of the staff can try to be more friendly by greeting guests they meet. I was impressed that they allow us to check in at12 pm when the check-in time was 2pm or 3 pm; that was good and fast service esp when the weather is cold. Enquiries for directions and information was promptly attended. Maybe it is not the hotel's duty to keep guests informed about special packages for sightseeing, but I think staff should direct guests to visitors' centre when in doubt instead of saying that there is no such package.( I am refering to the Smartvisit Card), the staff whom I asked had no idea about this. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to my friends and relatives and thanks for a relaxing time.

The hotel was better than I expected and the location
was excellent. The room was bigger than expected
but a little dark. Everything we needed was in the room
and thought the complimentary water was a nice touch.
The chairs in the bar were a little uncomfortable but
I could sit in the TV area with a drink and that was really
comfortable. The tourist information stand was very infromative. The girl in the bar was very helpful.
We did not have any food so cannot comment on this.
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

We found the location excellent for our weekend in Sydney. The staff were very helpful and our room quite comfortable. We would recommend the hotel to anyone.

This really does have a great location in Sydney where you can walk anywhere and have the town hall station literally round the corner.

Staff weren't overly friendly and didn't make it clear on arrival that they expected regular payments so after a few days you find a letter under the door telling you to go and pay your outstanding account. That was a little annoying and when we explained we didn't know about this policy they were pretty flippant.

The room was clean and quiet at night but it is on the small side and sharing with someone else in a double room you have pretty much no space between the two single beds.

It's a great place to stay for location and when you just need a safe and clean room to sleep in and you don't want to spend a lot of time there.

The hotel was quite central , and close to the Chinese district in Sydney. We found the room overlooked the roofs , rather than any view.The room only has a shower, no bath. The hotel was slightly faded , in that it looked as though it could do with a refurbishment sometime soon.
The staff were fine and helpful, as for the amenities, there was a single breakfast restaurant that also doubled up as a bar in the evening, again this was fairly basic - but did the job.
All in all it was functional and served its purpose, rather than somewhere that you would go to stay as an attraction in itself.

Of the two hotel clerks checking in, one was very friendly and helpful while the other was rather indifferent and made it obvious. Unfortunately the friendly one didn't have her name tag while the other female well I didn't care to catch her name.

Hotel is located near the Pitt Mall and is fairly centrally located near Chinatown and Darling Harbour.

Room 601 was right by the elevator and rather noisy. The room window looked out to a "light shaft" so it was rather dark.

The hotel has one elevator which is kinda slow especially when hotel maids and guests are constantly using it.

Overall it's not a bad hotel but neither is it a great one either.

Excellent location, walk to everything. Staff friendly, courteous and helpful. A very suitable hotel for most needs. Would certainly stay there again.

We had a very nice stay at the Metro Hotel. It was very comfortable and certainly in a good position for exploring the city.
The hotel staff were very helpful and curteous.
On the whole our holiday was a great success.

We stayed here for 4 nights in December 2007. The room was cleaned every day and was clean on arrival, unfortunately there was an unpleasant odour coming from the drains in the bathroom which they attempted to correct on 2 occasions but had no success. We didn't use the restaurant so can't give any feedback other than to say the menu and the restaurant both looked good though a little pricey compared with other nearby restaurants. We paid £64 a night for room only, this was excellent value as the hotel is in a good position, staff helpful and the hotel interior v. modern. You're not going to get fantastic views for the price we paid, if you want them then you're going to have to move closer to the harbour and double the price you pay. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Don't expect too much on the room size. However, the bathroom size is pretty big given the size of the room is small.

The location of the hotel is convinient.
Easily accessable to most places.

This hotel is very convenient to the CBD, the mall is just a few minutes stroll away, you can walk to any of the major tourist attractions. the room was spacious and clean and the staff were very good. the only problem is that rooms on the front of the hotel can be a little noisey from the street noise and the monorail, we only stayed two nights so didn't find it too much of a problem, the rooms would be great if they had double glazing to eliminate this problem.
I would recomend this hotel to anyone , it was a good location and value for money.
