The location of the Meritus Pelangi was excellent. The rooms were nice, however for the cost of the Deluxe Lake Views I would not recommend these types of rooms. They overlook a green swamp not a sparkling blue lake. There was no movement of the water so the lake was green and stagnant. The garden view rooms were a much better value or the beach view rooms if wanting more deluxe. The pool view rooms had no privacy with balconies facing the pool with children splashing and yelling. The hotel amenities were really nice and the staff were very attentive and friendly but they do need to train more staff at the check in counter on how to do this and change money as there were many staff behind the counter who could not help and the one staff member had to deal with many guests checking in and changing money. The buffet breakfast although expensive was worth the money. The drinks were on the dear side considering Langkawi is duty free. I would recommend this hotel again, but check around on your accomodation prices and stick with the garden view as I don't even think Shrek would live in the swamp (lake).

My wife & I decided on Langkawi to spend our 40th wedding anniversary. We traveled with a couple of friends and all had a completely wonderful 12 days. The hotel, whilst becoming a bit dated was clean and well kept. The staff could not have been nicer. The tours organized through the hotel were just as promised in particular the sunset dining cruise. The only down side was internet connection. Whilst it was fast it was expensive.

Room: We were upgraded to a Deluxe Triple room as the Superior Twin room which we've booked were not available after 40 minutes of wait, when we check in. Room was very spacious, with veranda & separate dressing room. Beds were comfortable. However, there were too many flying insects in the room for my liking. Location: The room we had was just 2 minutes away from the beach, very convenient. We can use the beach to get to the dining & shops along Pantai Ceneng - about few minutes walk. From the main entrance of the hotel, it's also about less than 10 minutes walk to the main dining/ shopping area of Pantai Cenang. Staff: Staff were very polite & courteous. A friendly lot of people. Food: Breakfast spread was good.

i wanted to pray but i could not find a pray mate and kibla, but the next day i found the kibla sign hidden in the draw next to the safe.... as a Muslim country i think a prayer mate, easily visible kibla sign and a Qurain copy will add up the flavor and comfort to the Muslim guests... still i'm looking forward to visit again.

My stay at this hotel met all my expectations. Such a lovely location, tranquil and relaxing atmosphere throughout, made my stay a pleasure!
The only aspect to let this hotel down was the lack of variety in food. Also, the quality of the meals was not up to the standard you would expect.

I had a bad experience during breakfast when I request for a seat in the open area (it was almost full but there are still available seats but they did not clean up), a chinese guy (elderly) was being rude by telling us to sit inside when I insisted to sit in one of the table which is not being clean up yet. I would give full praise to En Ismail (the buggy driver) who is so warm and friendly to us and every guests despite his age and tired. We were unable to go to the Mangrove Tour because of not enough pax, perhaps in the future you should collaborate with other hotels so that there will be enough people to go for tour because not many people can spend a long time to wait for the next tour, etc. Put an airfreshner or pot pourri because the building is old and made of wood and sometimes it has bad odour.

Aside for breakfast I think the restaurants at the Pelangi had a lot to be desired. For instance we had BBQ dinner and the seafood was under cooked and the meats were really tough.

A beautiful property covered with lush green surrounding. the concept of the room with veranda was unique. The room was beautifully done up and had good view too.

The service at this resort is EXCELLENT. We couldn't go anywhere on the property without staff greeting us and making sure our stay was the most pleasant possible. With the combination of the wonderful property/facilities and the excellent service, I would return to Pelangi Beach without hesitation. Our room was upgraded to a deluxe room at check-in. The room was spacious and clean. We were very pleased with our room.

a bar area with no music would be desirable. the room was fantastic. The air con was a little noisy but we got used to it.

It could be better if there was more light in the room.

I have to thoroughly check my bills upon leaving because some of the items are not even ours. Food are mediocre, should further improve in this area. But overall, my partner, and his parents had a pleasant stay in Pelangi. Thanks. The mosquito repellent is useful.

The hotel had 2 excellent pools, great buffet breakfast - and the meal we had in the restaurant was beautiful. The resort certainly had everything needed on holiday. Great sized room - large enough for ks bed with fold out for our son and a 2 seater couch. We were very happy with our room,

My girlfriend and i were disturbed to find ex staff picketing the hotel due to some staff grievences about the the laundry. This put us off staying longer at the Pelangi and we moved next door to the Casa Del Mar for the rest of our stay. I must everything about that small hotel was excellent.

The two swimming pools were the best - the biggest swimming pools Ive ever seen in a resort!! The aircon made a lot of noise and it was directed at the bed, so that we could not leave it on in the night.
