A group of 4 of us got some very cheap fares on Air Asia from Phomn Penh to Surabaya in May 2009. We are normally budget travellers and stay at more modest hotels but I was amazed to find we could stay at this hotel for not a lot more than we would normally be happy to pay. It was a lose it or use it deal, but just over $30 a night in a 4 star hotel was too tempting to resist. We found the hotel to be excellent in nearly every respect, the rooms were largish, clean and the bathroom and condiments left for you amazing. The beds were comfortable and the staff outstandingly helpful. I have found Surabayans to be the friendliest people I have struck on my travels. We didn't get to use the pool as it was the rainy season but it was large and clean and a very well equipped gym was available. And a reasonably quick LAN connection in every room gave you free internet access. My only downside comment was the security in the lift.. we stayed on the 3rd, 7th and 10th floors and the room card would only allow you access to your floor although you could use the stairwell to access any floor so it defeated the lift security to a point. The staff were kind enough to issue us extra room cards to get around the problem. And the safe in each room was easy to use. Coming from budget hotels and guest houses the hotel was like a palace but the staff made the whole experience more than worthwhile. I am going back to Surabaya in October and will definitely stay there again.

I would recommend anyone this hotel if going to Surabaya. The staffs are friendly and the room is being cleaned every morning. Its location is convenient as well. The room is big and clean, more than enough for 1 person.
