Recommendation: By Mr.Peter Newnham Australia We spent 14 days in new zealand starting with three days at the one venue in christchurch for a conference and then setting out, starting with a queenstown experience. We wanted a hotel that had the best views of the lake, somewhat refined ambience with ... relaxing spaces and nice food. We wanted to tour from queenstown to milford sound, preferably by air, and visit all of the many historic and exciting places (snow, wine, etc) in the area.
we thought we were really lucky to have booked this venue because it worked perfectly for us. We had busy days followed by very relaxing evenings, and the food and service was excellent. One of our best meals in new zealand - maybe the best (still deciding!)- was had in the mercure restaurant in queenstown. Total care for the customer and friendly service, and we happily said so to the staff on the night. It was truly a perfect meal.
next visit to queenstown will incorporate a stay at the mercure. It's a little way out of the main town centre (five minutes by car, at the most) but it provides that separation, a view of the town lights at night, and the most amazing views of the lake and mountains, with quiet!
very happy customers
