Very nice hotel and the reception staff was very helpful in recommending tours and booking them as well as answering all of our questions. We did have a problem with ants in our room though. The hotel claimed they sprayed and the ants were supposedly a common problem in Cairns. They didn't bother us after a few days because they are tiny little ants and they didn't get into our clothes or anything. All in all, this is a very nice hotel thats about a 25 minute walk away from the CBD of Cairns. The shuttle runs on the hour so that's convenient for those who don't wish to walk. My mom and I did enjoy the scenic walk along the esplanade to town though.

Thanks to an amazing, friendly, and helpful staff our stay in Cairns was wonderful. The hotel itself was perfect and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. It was so nice to have the shuttle for trips into town to make getting around town easy and affordable. The staff also was so helpful in directing us to an appropriate company for our excursion to the Reef.

We had the best time in Cairns, would certainly return, and would definitely stay here again.

the hotel was lovely.It had beautiful garden surrounding itwhere you could sit in for a peaceful time and reflect. Our view from the room was not good, but we had a full programe to go out and about,so the view was not that important to us.the room was very comfortable and spacious and we had all the necessary facilities. It was nice to be able to make tea when you wanted. we had a great time at Mercure hotel. The staff were fantastic and they were very helpful and curtious. Having the minibus to go in and out of town was a great idea, even when the bus was full the staff had no problem coming back for us.The servise in the hotel was very good.The staff were always willing to help nothing was a bother to them. We thank you for making our stay there wonderful.

Had a very nice stay, buffet breakfast over-priced... would be better to offer a la carte options as well for those small eaters... Dinner lovely.

Left breakfast order on the door before 12am. Slip was lost and therefore had to call room service to place another order.

Good food facilities but no gym, games , spa/sauna etc. Nice staff. "King Bed" was 2 singles pushed together, overly firm mattresses, slept very poorly on this bed.

Great view but noisy when there is poolside music / weddings

Resturant was over-priced for breakfast.
