Resorts doesn't provide any cheap food. All activities and food are very expensive much more than Singapore. A good place to stay for relaxation along the shore

Hi. I have stayed at Mayang Sari many times and never had a problem before but this time despite receiving confirmation that I would get a large bed, upon arrival I was given two single beds which was not really appropriate for a 'romantic' weekend getaway.

I did explain to the desk staff about this but they didn't seem to be able to help. Given that we checked in on Friday eve at 5pm for the entire weekend I was surprised that we couldn't change rooms.

Of course I will stay at Mayang Sari again in the future because I love it, but I do hope that I receive the correct bed next time.

The Staff at the Reception was very nice and helpful. The staff in the Restaurant was nice too but should be more friendly.

The Food should be improved and should be presented in a better and cleaner way (Breakfast).

The location of the Hotel is fantastic and you should be taking more care of the beach and the beach amenities (like the beach umbrella and deck chairs not in plastic but beautiful and comfortable).

The other thing which should be definetly renovated are the bathrooms in the common areas (wating room and restaurants). They are dirty and old. Once renovated you could put nice candles or light or rattan chest to decorate them. It takes so little to give a warmer atmosphere. We are sure that the Handicraft in bintan is nice so it would take very little to add something nice in the room too.

I believe that with some changes and a bit of renovation the value for money would be ok. I would love to come to Mayan Sari more often but for what it offers I find it very expensive.

I am really looking forward to see big changes in my next visit.

Our room opened right onto the beach. The beach was clean and lovely and not crowded. We loved the restaurant and thought the food was exceelnt. Tho the hotel is not a glitzy resort type, it is so perfect for those who appreciate quiet and charm. We also loved the spa which is very beautiful. We would highly recommend this hotel and spa.

My bf and I picked Mayang Sari cuz of the quiet and serene environment. We are alright with the lack of facilities since we can always hop to Nirwana for the pool etc.

I would like to particularly shared a wonderful experience of a good customer service in Mayang Sari.

On the last day of our stay, after we checked out of the hotel, we were at the lobby waiting for the bus to send us to the ferry terminal.

We had one bottle of beer left, and we decided to finish it before we leave. So, we approached the spice resturant and requested for 2 glasses and ices.

The waiter saw the beer and was quick to suggest CHILLED glasses. We were impressed. He gave us two chilled glasses, filled wid ices and helped us to open the bottle as well. FOC - free of charge.

It left us a deep impression.

The hotel is in a convenient location. You can see the beautiful beach from the restaurant or the rooms. The garden is very nice. All the staff are courteous and helpful. As the food, I suggest having more light and healthy meals. That means fewer fried and spicy food. Overall, I'd like to stay again in your place. Thank you.

STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, PLEASANT AND RESTFUL LOCATION,FOOD AT REATAURANT WAS VERY GOOD COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF IN CAHRGE.
THE ROOOMS NEED TO BE REDONE THEY ARE OLD. ALSO GARDENS COULD BE LOOKED AFTER BETTER.
WE BOOKED FOR 2 ADULTS AND A 10 YEAR OLD CHILD AND WE DID NOT GET A SINGLE BED FOR THE 10 YEAR OLD ONLY A VERY SMALL SOFA. UNCOMFORTABLE FOR HER. BUT WE DID ENJOY OUR STAY AND WILL CERTAINLY RETURN AGAIN.

My girlfiriend and I had just 4 days free as I was working in Singapore, and this turned out to be the perfect retreat. The staff were helpful, the food good, but it was the accomodation (make sure you get a beachfront chalet - worth the extra) that made it (once we switched to a room with a double rather than twin beds). Being able to wake up and walk to the beautiful beach and swim in the sea that was just 30 metres away - and the temeprature of a nice bath - was spectactular. Good for kids too, but best for a retreat for a couple.

The aircon in our room wasnt working very well & the chair set is not comfortable to laze around on.

Also, it would be good if added facility to the premise, like a few more shops & a pool.

The staff service is good though.

Hi! My family and I stayed in Mayang Sari Beach Resort on the 13 Dec 2008 to 15 Dec 2008. It is really a beautiful place to stay in . We stayed at Octopus 1-2 and the location of the chalet is splendid overlooking the sea and my mum and kids enjoyed it very much. They have good team of staffs who are all way out to make your stay a memorable one. The shuttle and buggy service provided by the hotel makes the stay more convenience and interesting we manage to move about without forking out transportation money(only to pasar oleh-oleh). But be prepared, the food are expensive pse bring your own food stuff if on budget . FYI on day 1 we spent SGD430 on lunch and kelong dinner for family of 4 adults and 4 kids.(WOW!!!!!!)But on the whole, we love bintan and Mayang Sari Resort and will definately make a come back . Thumbs up to the staffs!!!!

We stayed in Dolphin Chalet right on the beach which was perfect. The chalets themselves are all run down and all need to be renovated. Our toilet seat was split in 3 places so was difficult to sit on, the fridge hadn't been defrosted so we did it ourselves by putting it over the bath tub and running the hot shower over it. Worked a treat after that! We feel the Nirwana Beach Hotel receives all the monies and they don't put it back into the Mayang Sari. We would stay there again though. The food was the best food we have tasted since being in Singapore. The staff were excellent and the chef always came out to see if there was anything else he could do for our meals. Except for the state of the rooms/chalets, etc it a perfect place to holiday.

For those expats and residents of Singapore who are looking for a resonably priced get-away from the city, I recommend Mayang Sari. It is located on a beautiful beach with clean clear water. There are a lot of activities to engage in, the rooms are spaceous, the food good and most importantly the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The resort is one part of the Nirwana Resorts complex (3 resorts ) located in the same beautiful grounds. Mayang Sari has chalets which are very spacious . It is very quiet if you wish to just relax by the beach with a book . There is no pool there .The pool is at the main, bigger resort (Nirwana ) which also has more restaurants.It is about a 10-15 minute walk through the grounds, or take the free shuttle bus which comes around frequently . Staff very friendly . Good selection of food for breakfast .

It's a nice charming place for couples. The beach is fantastic and the facilities adequate for a great romantic getaway. My wife and I had a great time while our kids were away. We may come back with the kids one day as it is also a great family place.

Great location. Public areas look tired. Room very big.
