Our stay at the hotel exceeded our expectations.
Our daughter fell in love with the pool - which is something really special. The water features and the garden were great and came with intersting wildlife. With a meal deal we found the tariff quite reasonable. Room was well furnished, well lit and the cleaning staff very pleasant. The security card access to the lifts is a good idea - could be improved by making the cards floor specific for access to the accommodation floors.
A comment on the facilities.
The hotel building is starting to look a little weary. Definitely needs a good clean and paint job on the outside, especially the rust needs to be fixed.
We stayed in Room 1201. The washbasin taps handles were loose, bottom cupboard door hinge needs a visit from a screwdriver and the roman blind on the window facing the north needs a vacuum run over it. Door in lh cubicle in men's lobby bathroom needs fixing, like stop it jamming. Chewing gum on the inside of the hand rail in lift 4 (lhs looking into lift). The gardens had quite a few weeds that needed to be removed. And while it is wonderful to see a Wollomi pine - and the surronding plants they all really did need a little more regular water.
A big downer for us was not being able to bring relatives into the pool area. This was not well explained or very well handled and quite frankly left us feeling very poorly over the whole incident. Never experienced this type of treatment anywhere else in the world. Even if we could have paid to have our relatives into the pool area would have been an acceptable compromise.
However, to close on a positive note.
Clearly Marriott have very good staff selection and training processes as all your staff were a total delight. Chatting with a few of the staff it appears Marriott are an employer of choice, a frequent aspiration that most corporations fail to achieve. Congratulations. And while it is probably not fair to single out individuals, Julia (shortish, blonde lady) in the main restaurant and Tania on the front desk were stand outs, both very helpful and very representative of your wonderful staff. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

I found a number of hairs in buthtub. I could not believe that.
