In general we were happy with our stay at this hotel. The 1 bedroom apartment was roomy and contained most amenities including washing machine and dryer. It was clean and comfortable. It was a little noisy but we stayed during the Australian tennis open which was busy time for Melbourne plus I thought the cost was expensive but I think for the same reason with the tennis.

This hotel was in a very convenient location in the CBD of Melbourne. Easy access to Supermarkets and eating establishments, also close to public transport. We took a tram to Telstra Dome and it was terrific to step out right at the entrance to the Dome. We really enjoyed being able to cater for ourselves in our room with microwave, cooking utensils, toaster and tea & coffee making facilities. The decor was really very pleasant with a clean cut and modern look. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed.

Service by staff in both front desk and the restaurant was excellent.
The down side we had with our apartment was that if you wanted to use the kitchen/ laundry there was 3 things wrong, the dishwasher was not working it actually had water sitting in the bottom of it with a distinct odour.

The fridge you had difficulty putting you food in it as it had no shelves in the fridge.

The laundry drain had a foul smell that when you used the washing machine you could smell throughout the apartment.

In all we had a very pleasant stay and I would stay there again, but as we did have an apartment so we could get some food in and save money on eating out these things were annoying. And it you had a small family you would find it difficult.

Everything was spotless and that was great.

Reception staff very helpful We were pleased to have been upgraded into an apartment with full kitchen and laundry facilities due to the length of time we stayed - staff felt this would be better suited to us and was able to reduce the extra cost for us. Thoroughly enjoyed the room

Staff we dealt with: reception, room service and those we bumped into in the passage way were all so friendly...it was very welcoming! We enjoyed the facilities of having a kitchen/lounge.

We found the hotel location ok. We were on the 7th floor so traffic noise was not a problem. I would definitely recommend the Saville on Russell. The suite had everything we were looking for. It was very comfortable,clean and roomy.
