Overview
Built in 1910 on the initiative of the department store "Bon Marche" (which now belongs to the LVMH corporation), the hotel Lutetia was the first art-deco hotel in Paris.
Located in the heart of Saint-Germain des Pres, it witnesses the artistic revival of the inter-war years, and accommodated numerous noted painters and writers (Picasso, Matisse, Andre Gide…).
Other famous personalities stayed at the Hotel Lutetia Paris: Alexandra David-Neel on her way back from her trips in the Far East, the singer Josephine Baker with her numerous children, and General Charles de Gaulle during his honeymoon.
