| Sydney Airport to Lilianfels (Toll payable): If travelling from the airport, collect maps and details on how to exit Airport areas from your rental car company. The domestic and international terminals are on different sides of the airport. Follow signs towards downtown (north) until you reach Redfern and Cleveland Street. Turn left into Cleveland Street and proceed West until you reach city Road (T intersection) where you will turn right. Proceed north again for about 800 metres to Paramatta Road (another T section) and turn left (west). Proceed west until you come to the M4 freeway. Watch for the toll booth (AUD 2.30). After Blacktown exits watch for Australia's Wonderland (exit Wallgrove Rd, left). Proceeding west on the M4, cross the Nepean River at Penrith and then start to climb the mountain (about 50 km ) to Katoomba. At present the road is undergoing major works as a dual carriageway is being built. The road passes many large and small towns until you finally arrive at Katoomba. This is the main upper mountains town (Population 12,500). Watch for signs and turn left into Katoomba township, across the railway line. Turn left again at the roundabout, then take the first turn right. (Katoomba Street, main road through shops) . Proceed all the way down this street, through the shops and past the Police Station, down into the residential area and when the road turns left at the bottom you will see Lilianfels straight ahead of you. |

This hotel was really comfortable, good location but no veranda and small window. The breakfast was excellent, but we had to wait in a queue. - posted Monday, February 06, 2012
