Review of Hotel
My husband and I were extremely impressed by the size of the superior room and amenities provided. The room and bathroom was clean and well fitted out. Our room came with buffet breakfast for 2 and the food was pretty good as well. Staff were courteous and very accommodating. We liked the location as it was so central, and we also liked the market and stalls. It was so convenient to walk to most places because of Will definitely consider staying there again if we are in KK.
My fisrt Sabah trip
The location of this hotel is great. Free shuttle bus stop to 1 Borneo is near the hotel. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The double rooms are comfortable and large. Good price of the buffet dinner. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel next time.
Excellent value for money
Excellent value for money. Location is convenient for all amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food in the hotel is excellent and reasonable price. The size of the swimming pool is not proportionate to the number of rooms in relation to guests present. The open market and the untidy seafront with sewage smell in front of the hotel is unacceptable and is the only downside of the location of the hotel.
Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu
My stay in Le Meridien has been a wonderful experience. Even my kids love it and wish to come back here again. The breakfast buffet were quite a spread. It's a pity never get to try out other buffet coz too busy with itenaries. Location is superb, nearby to night market and many shopping centres too. There's also a night market right next to the hotel. There's a free shuttle to Hypermall at 1 Borneo, how convenient. I will definetely come back to stay here if I ever come back to Kota Kinabalu. Cheers!
My stay in this hotel met my expectations. The studio room is comfortable and of an average size. The hotel location was however the main attraction of this hotel, as it was in the heart of the city. Overall, I would recommend staying at this for a few nights if you are willing to spend a few extra dollars for the convenient location.
Unbeatable location and excellent service
The service at the Le Meridien was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. My party of 6 arrived at about 8:30am and we left our 10 bags in the care of Le Meridien and our valuables in their safe while we went to the Sunday market in Gaya Street. On our return in the early afternoon our three rooms were ready for us. The next morning we left for a seven day tour in Sabbah and Le Meridien happily kept four bags for us {including one of fragile items} as well as valuables in a safe deposit box. on our return to le Meridien all bags were delivered to our new rooms with little fuss. Upon check-in second time round I handed them four of our 6 key cards from our first stay. This was so not a problem that it was not even commented on. The buffet breakfast is the best I have ever seen. There was a vast range of choices, catering to most cultures and with half a dozen chefs cooking to order. The one very small issue I had {which amused my children} is the hotel has its lifts at one end of the hotel rather than in the middle as is common. This meant that if your room was not sea facing and was on the south side you had a little walk to your room. Not a problem, although if you have a mobility issue you should ask for the north facing rooms which are right next to the lifts. My problem was that the corridors looked exactly alike and I kept going the wrong way between my room and the lifts. The location of this hotel is the best of all the hotels in KK. It is across the road from the handicraft market {Philipino market} and a number of restaurants on the water front, including Port View Seafoods. Centrepoint mall is next door on the souithside {1 block back} and KK mall is a few minutes walk north of the hotel.
Great location
Location of this hotel is excellent, especially for families as there are shops all around it's very convenient. The hotel staff were very courteous. When we checked in and did not like the location of the room and requested for a change, they very politely obliged and it made our stay very comfortable. The housekeeping were very efficient and we got everything we asked for. The only thing we were disappointed with was the cost for an extra bed. It was RM150 per night and we felt it was quite costly so we did not request for one. On the whole, it's a great place to stay.
