the room smelt badly of smoke and there was no mini bar

- Staffs (at front desk) were pleasant, friendly & very professional. - Electric water kettle has dark stains. Was not sure whether it is alright to use.

Furniture a bit tired, but quite comfy

The hotel was very pleasant once one got used to it. The staff in the dining room reception was barely adequate The room was pleasant enough, maybe a shade too remiscent of a byegone age

The hotel has been neglected. Neeeds maintenance and sprucing up. There are better hotels in the neighborhood for about the same price. When we came back to Perth a few days later we stayed at Miss MAud's, around the corner, A$173 for a lovely room with dinner and breakfast for two, a lovely buffet with raw oysters, mussels, shrimp, and a huge array of food, vegetables, salads, etc. The carpet was blacking places, looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Broken tiles in the bathroom, generally shabby room and halls.
