Don't expect a luxury hotel: you only get what you pay for at this hotel. Good value for little money, the hotel and its rooms are no-frills but spacious and comfortable. The room was OK clean, the sheets and towels very clean. We stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor which seem to be remodeled recently, they are definitely recommendable. However, there was no writing desk or wardrobe, just a chair and 2 clothes hangers hanging from the TV set. Also, the warm water pressure in the shower was painfully low. At night it was a bit noisy from the street and neighbors. However, service was very helpful. There might be some inconveniences at this hotel, but the best features are the low price and the excellent location: only a short walk to the tube station Baker Street, Madam Tussauds, Oxford Street and Oxford Circus.

I arrived at the hotel at 0100hrs having phoned them from my departure airport beforehand to remind them of my late arrival. I was told by the oriental person on the 'reception' desk that they had plumbing problems ( overbooking?) and that I had been moved to another hotel of the same ownership a few streets away ( 1/2 mile). I was tired from my journey and insisted they called a taxi for me ( at their cost) but no taxi was apparently available (!) so I had to walk. When I arrived at the Berkeley Court Hotel another oriental young lady gave me a room saying that it was very quiet. It was tiny and the bed was aginst the sash window which was at street level and had no lock on it so anyone could have got into the roomat night straight from the street! You can imagine how I slept well!! Both hotels were seedy dives, perhaps the Kenwood House was the worse of the two. Cost of the single en suite room was £50. Next time I'll sleep at the airport on a bench...

When you go to London and you want to see everything therewith other words: when you go to London and don't want to spend your precious time in your hotel: this is a graet cheap opportunity. Don't expect a sweet little nice hotel: It isn't. The staff is actually unfriendly and don't expect any help from them. The hotel isn't clean, but the beds are, so is the shower and your towels. The rooms are quite big. It's a good place to sleep with an excellent location. But if you're looking for ambiance: look further (and don't expect a price like the one for this hotel).

Everything was awfull and dirty and the noise was incredible. This hotel did NOT meet my expectations. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

the only good thing about this hotel is location. there is nothing else that could or should attract you to this place. It is dirty!!!

After reading the reviews on the Internet i must admit we were quite "ready to everything". Especially as we got the booking in the ultra last minute and because the price was really so reasonable for the New Years time. We didn't need anything really comfortable though, just a place to stay and sleep over. But when arriving to the room i must say we were pleasantly surprised as it was warm and clean and beds were cosy and clean, so was the bathroom. Off course it was seen, that the hotel is in the phase of the renovation at the moment and that there is still plenty of things to be done, but the stay was nice and we would definitely return to the hotel (also because of the location) if we would need last minute sleep over.

I arrived late and the online booking only provided me with the wrong phone number, so I could not tell the staff. The staff waited for me to arrive which was really helpful, thank you.

The location of the Hotel was very good.
The wake-up calls were on time.

We found the room to be unclean. The clothes closet had dust and only 4 hangers that were unusable. The ceilings of the room were water stained ( it only takes a coat of paint to make it fresh & clean looking) The comforter showed soiled areas..The towels were old & ruff feeling. There was no alarm/radio in the room.

The bathroom was dirty looking, dust under & behind the toilet. The shower head was broken off and did not work properly. The repairs/were very unprofessionally done in water closet. The toilet was very noisy.

The heat had to be turned on & Off with a wrench, the control was not present on the fixture. The TV did not work at all. The writing desk we never found, unless it was the little table that the TV that did not work was on.

The staff was not the best. We had a call come in for us and the lady stated that the person that answered the phone could not be understood and was not aware that we were staying at the hotel. (unacceptable). They could not help with questions that we had regarding transportation to the Airport, or Taxi's....They were not well versed on what guests would need.

On informing the staff of the problems in the room, he suggested we move to another and only to find out that the room he wanted to put us in was occupied.

We were in Europe for 23 days and all our accomodations were very good to excellant, except the 4-days at this hotel. We would not recommend this hotel to any of our friends. You asked what kind of stay this hotel is good for.....until it is fixed up and more presentable to your guests and a staff that can be more help, I would answer that with "none".

If I knew this review allowed pictures, I would surely had taken some and posted them with this statement.

I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. When I arrived to check in there was no available room for me and it continued until the end of the day and I was offered another room smal, dirty and very hot. So, me and my wife decide to look for another hotel, since the Kenwood is a very old and dirty hotel. It was a very disgusting and frustated situation. HolidayCity should select better the hotels to be offered for the tourists.

The hotel was fully booked when we arrived and we had been moved to another hotel without been told which i thought was not good. We should of had a en-suit room but when we arrived the toilet and shower room was on the next level.

Radiators were broken and they moved us to another hotel last night, better room although we lost breaskfast Good service,small bathroom with carpet,small and cold water flow on the shower,breakfast with only toasts and coffee, no current adaptors, no soap,no gel, no shampoo

The pelmet in the room is a telephone wire. I think it speaks for itself.

I was told on arrival there was no room for me because of a group, and I was to be put in the Gresham Hotel that also belonged to the Kenwood, but was in Bloomsbury Street, which was not in the area I wanted. (They paid for a taxi). The Gresham told me a different story, that they have a policy of allowing people to extend their stay regardless of whether the room is already booked. The Gresham was in addition not super clean and had no facility for leaving luggage. I don't expect a great deal from a cheap hotel but not keeping the room was inexcusable (I wasn't late) and I would take both of them off the list

ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME HOTEL? WRITING DESK-NO. IRON? HAD TO ASK FOR ONE BUT NOTHING TO IRON ON, EXCEPT THE FLOOR? DIDNT SEE ANY TEA OR COFFEE ANYWHERE....NO CABLE TV EITHER....UNFORTUNATELY A FRIEND HAD RECOMMENDED THIS HOTEL TO US AS HE STAYED THERE IN 1998. SINCE 1998 IT HAS GONE DOWN RAPIDLY FROM WHAT HE TOLD US ABOUT IT. I WOULD SAY IT NEEDS CONDEMNING AS THE FLOORS ARE ALL UNEVEN, PAINT PEELING OFF THE WALLS AND GENERAL A BAD FEELING AS WE OPENED THE DOOR . THE LADY ON THE FRONT DESK WAS NOT VERY FRIENDLY AT ALL AND WE FELT UNCOMFORTABLE. WE HAD TO ASK FOR A GLOBE FOR THE BATHROOM AS THAT HAD BLOWN, SO ALL IN ALL, IT WASNT A VERY PLEASANT LAST NIGHT IN LONDON FOR US AT ALL! We arrived to find that the Kenwood House Hotel was closed due to a leak and we had been booked in somwhere else. The Berkley Court Hotel was not satisfactory (and we were told that it was a better hotel than the Kenwood!) The room was very cold. Only one of the 2 inadequate heaters worked. The plug in the sink did not work. I would recommend carpet on the floors instead of laminate floors. We had to ask for more tea and coffee supplies. The breakfast was poor, no choice: only coffee, no fruit juice. Toast was served on one plate for 4 of us. All in all we were not satisfied.
