My stay at this hotel was very enjoyable. I found the location ideal and the staff very helpfull and freindly. The only down ratings I would note is for the toilet layout which I found a litle cramped and the noise from the roof aircon units was a little to high. Cheers

The rooms were exceedingly overpriced. $299 and $399 per night per room totalled $1396, whereas a two bedroom very large unit at the Whtsundays, with a fantastic view and much better facilities and service cost just under $600.00 for 4 nights. Maybe it was because of the RWC, but still find the prices ridiclous - especially for an old hotel! The atmosphere was great though, due the the RWC fans!

Front counter staff were friendly, efficient and helpful - their positive attitude made a big difference. I also appreciated having a bar and cafe which operated for extended hours on Sunday evening, and had fast, inexpensive wireless internet available through the Cafenet system. Shall be happy to recommend Ibis Hotel to others.

My stay was value for money. Newly renovated our room was excellent . Staff courteous with location good. Need to find parking.

We changed to Ibis and cancelled another booked hotel as Ibis said it had smoking rooms. We got there and they said they had no smoking rooms. Their website needs to be changed to say this.

Hotel was central for our needs for the rugby - we booked 2 couples - but one lot on first floor the second on 7th floor - asked for smoking rooms - neither got, no mention of parking and as this was suposedly full we had to pay extra for parking.
Wanted a coffee at the bar after coming back from the rugby this was deined to us.
Would not recomend or stay again - sorry.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. Big help being able to leave bags at reception even though checked out, as sightseeing would have been impossible otherwise, and knowing it was safe for collection later in the day.

The restaurant was undergoing refurbishment while we were staying and was only open for breakfast.

Excellent location, close to all city amenities and shops.

Would be happy to stay again.

The location was great, enjoyed our evening meal and service was very good, answered our questions about how to get around city. Breakfast was good also although could have stayed open until we were finished instead of informing us that they were closing at 10am and to get what we could before they took it away. Room good size and comfortable. Asked about room service for later but told that it closed at 9pm maybe something a little later would be good.

We had a 4 night stay at the hotel. We had booked a double room and were given a twin. Next night we moved to a double room and the king size bed was atrocious - with a major dip in one side.

Our room was not serviced for two days of the stay, although towels were left in a plastic bag outside the door on the third day of our stay.

The hotel tried to invoice us for 4 day's parking which we had not used at all! (be warned - it costs $20 per day)

We tried to buy a newspaper from reception and paid with a $20 note. We were given about $1.50 in change, and when we questioned it he said he didn't have any change. We bought a paper outside the hotel.

We think the general level of service could have been a whole lot better.

Would prefer to have tubbath facility.
