Great food and location

The Hyatt in Xi An rates as merely satisfactory or 4-star by international standards but is not really up to the generally higher 5-star standards of other Hyatt hotels outside China. The decor is rather staid and gloomy. The bar and band are below standard in ambience and quality. However, staff try to please. The most outstanding aspect of this hotel is the first-rate Chinese restaurant -- one of the best we have visited in China. Really excellent food. The international buffet in the cafe is also very good. The location is within walking distance of the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower, and Moslem Street market.
