Reception on arrival in evening very cool, not terribly welcoming. A small place but no real sense of the 'personal' touch. Location excellent, and very pleasant garden. Room facilities pleasant enough. However a stale odour, possibly carpet needed replacing or cleaning. Reported to management and was noted & thanked for reporting.

Rather good for the price

1) When I checked in, reception was not too helpful when I asked for corp rates. I was given to understand that I had to make a written/formal application at least a few days beforehand. This is not so with all other hotels. When I wanted to see the person-in-charge of this, was told that she had gone out and do not know when she is coming back. Was told to 'catch hold' of her myself. 1)Though the bed was comfortable, the pillow was not as it was a bit thick. Lying on it would not make it go down too much/softer. As it strained our necks/shoulders, we preferred sleeping without the pillow.

Hotel Puri is a character building and hotel. Staff was very helpful and responsive. Good internet assistance. The breakfast included was very good breakfast and the cafe is fine. The courtyard and historic ambience is very pleasant, interesting and relaxing. Highly recommend, and very, very good value. Well kept, staff and management very helpful and accommodating.

The price is cheap and it is a quite special hotel. The room has strong smell (maybe cigar) and the it is not quite clean.

The location is very good. The room is too small.

The court yard and waterfall, the fish were beautiful! ROom was reasonably clean and ample

wonderful courtyard with tables and water feature. in the tropical atmosphere was lovely. the food was delicious too. the air conditioner switched itself off O/N which was a little inconvenient but otherwise room lovely

Car park not convenient. Have to tread busy road to reach there. not practical for toiletries/toilet roll to be on top of toilet tank. Tends to be wet. Better to have a horizontal panel above sink for this.

the carpet smelt - like it was old.

The breakfast can be improved in terms food variety and presentation. Some guests may not want local foods but prefer warm nice breads and pastry with a cup of specially brewed coffee. The room is adequate for short stay of less than 5 days. The connecting rooms are useful for family groups to stay close to each other.

Well located - walking distance from all the sights of Malacca - in the old part of town. Great ambience - and the hotel itself is beautiful. I was very happy with the room and facilities - the beds were incredibly comfortable!

We greatly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel, located within walking distance of the river and historic sites. Great staff that made us feel like guests at a private home. Highly recommend. We stayed in a Superior room. Aircon was excellent. Lovely bathroom with big shower area. Everything was in good working order and beds were comfortable.

The hotel staff were polite and service was excellent. The history room in the hotel was a plus point as it gave us further insight of the Malaccan culture. The hotel is centrally located in the heritage trail and next to Jonker Street which an antique collector's paradise. The room was spacious and we really enjoyed the TV area which was away from the beds and gave us privacy while our daughter was sleeping.

If possible, shuttle bus for the visiting the whole city had better be provided. If possible, the hotel had better provide the slippers.

Rich atmosphere. Friendly, efficient and helpful staff.

I think the loft and the history room appeal to me the most. I also enjoy breakfast as the food range is just right and the staff are very nice. It makes me feel like part of a family. Aircon facility is adequate, but the room is too squeezy which deters me from staying in the room for too long.

Great character filled hotel. Quiet.

The bedroom was small but then it was the cheapest type of room.

NO LIFT AND CONCRIEGE SO WE HAVE TO CARRY OUR OWN BAG BY STAIRS... CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT IF YOUR BAG IS SO HEAVY THE AIRCON HAS A PROBLEM AND THE ROOM IS TOO DARK

The hotel is unique and easy to go to the tourist places. Such as Stadhuy House, Franchis Church... etc

Check-in was a breeze. However, we were sent up to an UNMADE and dirty room. We also had to complain twice about the toilet (not flushing).
