Very helpful staff and truly value for money for 70 odd Euros. The room, shower facility and only elevator is a bit small but the bathroom is recently renovated with a good matress. If you need to leave Paris by Gare de Nord or Gare de Est often with some baggages, this is surely a good 2 star hotel choice. If the 7 Euro continental breakfast can be included, it will even be more competitive. Anyways, the complimentary WIFI is perfect inside the hotel room. Bravo.

Having read all the previous reviews for this hotel I was not disappointed. The hotel is run by a gentleman and his two sons. They all speak some English and are very happy to help you plan your trips, on bus and train. I had never been to Paris before and only have minimal French. I was on my own but found my way round easily on the bus, metro and walking. Unlike many tales I had heard, the inhabitants of Paris were extremely helpful with directions. The Hotel corridors and stairways are in need of decoration but they are exceptionally clean as are the rooms. I asked for a room well away from the lift and only on the last night did it become apparent that there is no soundproofing in the hotel. Although the Hotel is situated in a working class area it makes a very good base from which to see the sights and is only a 3 minute walk from the Gare du Nord. The breakfast is continental but very fresh produce is offered and was sufficient to keep me happy till lunch. I would stay there again on my next trip to Paris.

By far the biggest selling factor of this lovely hotel is its staff. Every single one of them was courteous, helpful, kind and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

When visiting somewhere like Paris for the 1st time, this was what made the trip that much more enjoyable.

They speak English well and create a wonderful atmospehre for the travel weary visitor.

If you are looking for a home base from which to explore Paris, this is a great location - close to transport and cafes.

The service of the staff is good and they speak English and they are all very very friendly. The breakfast is ok.

Great starting point from which to see the city; it is easy to get to- it is a short walk from Gare du Nord, it is surrounded by many restaurants, most of which have menus in all languages and the staff can speak english. The room is clean, small, but not cramped. It is a little noisy (we were in the stairwell) but a fine wake up call for a nice breakfast of baguette, croissants and coffee. It was the perfect base for us (a mid 20's couple) to sleep and from which to head out to see the city. I would recommend it, if that is what you are looking for. Expect a very french hotel; small windy stairs (and a little luggage lift too), little breakfast nook, and beautiful open windows to the city. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

The location of the hotel is excellent, while the staff is OK, room is clean. Therefore, definitely I would like to recommend.

Excellent hotel for our first trip to Paris. Good location close to Gare du Nord and restaurants. Room was clean and large and nicely decorated. For such a good, busy location the room was very quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good continental breakfast to get you started for the day.

I was only in Paris only one night and the room even small was adequate for my needs. The hotel staff were very friendly , i was able to leave my luggage there after i had checked out which was very convienient. The rail station is just around the corner. The room was small however the bathroom was quite a good size. There were mant cafes around the hotel. The only drawback there was no where for a car or cab to stop to drop off or pick up. It is a busy street.

Since our windows were at Rue da Magenta, one of the busiest streets, the noise was quite bad with the open windows, and bearable with them closed. Otherwise, great service, great location, wifi, for this money (85 euros for twin bed room) definitely I am satisfied and would return.

We found our stay wonderful - the staff were so courteous and helpful at all times - whether this was a request for another pillow or advice on where to find specific things of interest to us. The hotel was really convenient to all transport - bus almost outside the door, Gard de Nord just round the corner. Easy access to Paris central or to Charles de Gaule airport. Breakfast included in the price was wonderful - staff were always cheerful and food was fresh. Miss my breakfast chocolat and croissant now that I am back in Australia. The room was clean and very comfortable - view was wonderful - bathroom was more than adequate in size. Good, cheap supermarket just over the road and wonderful restaurants nearby. Just loved it.

Very very very small shower. Nevertheless if you need just a place for sleeping it is quite ok. Convenient connection with airport CDG and other parts of the city.

Excellent location between the two biggest metro and train stations. The hotelstaff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms was a bit small but very clean and tidy. I would definetly recomend this hotel to all my friends and when I return to Paris I will return to this hotel.

The Hotel de L'Europe was clean and a good size. It had none of the extras you get used to after being in USA and Canada like kettle, alarm clock and air conditioning. Unfortunately we struck a few hot days in Paris and could have done with a small fan to keep the air moving. The Hotel is excellently located near the Gard de Nord which is the Express line from Charles De gaulle airport and is walking distance from the Moulin Rouge and Monmarte. It is also on the bus route for the Red sightseeing buses. Breakfast was included for 81 Euros a night and was excellent value. The owner was helpful and overall it was excellent value for money spent.

I found the hotel very nice, staff were very helpful,great breakfast.very conventient to station,walking distance to shops'and to great restaurants,will go back,nice clean room.

location near Gare du Nord, Montmartre, etc is ideal. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. Great value for money and overall a very good 4 nights was spent here. extremely clean. as hotel rooms in Paris go it was a comfortable size. lots of closet space.

A pair of counterpane instead of double blanket would have been better.
